Premiere Vision and the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la mode sign a mutual support agreement to confort Paris as the world fashion capital
Paris’s two most influential players on the international fashion scene - trade-show organiser Premiere Vision and the Federation de la Haute Couture de la Mode - have signed a partnership agreement.
In celebration of one of the most prestigious couture houses in the world, the National Gallery of Victoria is delighted to present The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture at NGV International from 27 August to 7 November 2017. Exclusive to Melbourne and the NGV, the exhibition will present more than 140 garments designed between 1947 and 2017, including some of the most outstanding, theatrical and technically accomplished pieces from Christian Dior Couture.

The Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2013 collection of Christian Dior was presented during the Paris Fashion Week yesterday. This is the second collection by the Belgian designer Raf Simons for the famous French label. Instead on a traditional catwalk the defile was presented in a recreated garden in the Tuileries. The Belgian gardening firm Jacques Wirtz supplied the plants and design.

The models are inspired by the imagery in tarot cards – the sun, the moon and the world. The dresses are feminine and romantic, with layers of transparent plastic and patches of silicone, pearl and crystal mesh. Embroideries of the tarot symbols added to the luxurious look. The fabrics are mostly in tender pastel colours.

John Galliano showed a mix of grand style dresses and underwear like 50's: silk blouses with stockings and garters, splendid skirts with beige bras and gloves, enhancing thigh bastions, short jackets and round combinations on the edge.
