Google launched a fashion e-commerce site Google Inc. launched a fashion e-commerce site Boutiques.com, which uses human curators, visual recognition and machine learning technology to recommend items to shoppers.

Boutiques.com has so many capabilities and components that even Google engineers have a hard time qualifying it. It is a collection of hundreds of virtual boutiques merchandised, by designers, retailers, bloggers, celebrities, etc. You can shop in the style of actresses or celebrities who signed up, or you can build your own boutique and amass followers who can comment on your taste.

Boutiques.com is only available in the U.S. and only for women's fashion, but is expected to expand in the future, Google said.
