Lady Gaga defends her decision to wear fur clothes

Lady Gaga defends her decision to wear fur clothesSinger Lady Gaga has defended her decision to wear fur.

The singer has stepped out in two animal style ensembles recently while carrying a dog but refuses to get into details about why she feels it's OK to don an animal's exterior for fashion.

She explained: "I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux fur-pile or real because I would think it hypercritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator, 'kermit' and not to mention meat, that I have already worn."

The star insisted that while others see her clothing as a dead animal she sees it as expressing herself through art. She continued: "You see a carcass, I see a museum pièce de résistance."

In a post on her website she told her fans that she respected their views and even supported animal rights. However she attacked Peta's campaign against fur.

She wrote: "I want you to know that I care deeply about your feelings and views, and I will always support your philosophies about life. "I do not however support violent, abusive, and childish campaigns for ANY CAUSE. Particularly one that I respect. Animal Rights."

Referring to a recent incident in which Kim Kardashian had flour thrown on her during red carpet interviews, she showed support for the reality TV star.

Lady Gaga added: "I respect your views, please respect mine. And to campaigners, Save your flour to make bread for the children who are hungry. And Kim Kardashian is fabulous."
