"Express yourselff" with Markam Fashion

More than 2000 brands from all over the world take part in this largest show in Europe, which takes place on 27 – 29 July. MARKAM FASHION is once again the only Bulgarian brand to have been selected to participate in the trend show at the fashion fair. MARKAM FASHION opens the theme URBAN REMIX.

Once a short list had been selected by the German Association of Fashion and Textile Designers by the end of May this year, ?ARKAM FASHION was invited to make a presentation at two of the themes for the trend show, and those were URBAN REMIX and ARTY JET SET, among only ten brands selected to present their concepts for Spring & Summer 2009. This trend show is to take place at the Fashion theatre, at Pavilion no. 11, and the event is due to happen twice a day, in the course of the show.

Markam Fashion opened its first franchising shop on the 25.06.08 in Romania. The sales point is located at the brand new 4**** hotel, Rin Grand Hotel, in Bucharest. The hotel offers to the business guests of the Romanian capital 1 600 rooms, large Congress center, and Shopping Galleria. The excellent quality of the garments and the international recognition of the brand name made Markam Fashion a winner among the serious competitors for this prestigious commercial place. The professional committee selected the collections of Markam Fashion as the proper ones for the VIP clients of the hotel.

Bulgarian Kristina Dimitrova, who is the first winner in the competition “Show me your Sloggi”, attracted again the world attention. On 12th of June 2008 all users of the site www.sloggi.com could watch live interactive photo session with the participation of our girl. The man winner Andrey Andrey (24) from Romania also participated. With this original online event the leader in the producing of underwear Sloggi gave start to the new campaign for the search of the most beautiful man and woman bottom in the world – “Show me your Sloggi 2008”.

The cult British man Ray Kuks was at the interactive photo session as well. The users also saw interviews with the team and cinema movies of different participants.

Bulgarian designer participated in Barcelona Bridal Week

From 30 May until 1 June in Barcelona took place one of the biggest exhibitions of bridal fashion in Europe – Barcelona Bridal Week. At this shiny and very attractive event every year participate the most prestigious Spanish companies as well as world known designers from all over the world. This year among them were Pronovias, Rosa Clara and Hanibal Laguna.

For the first time a Bulgarian designer was invited to participate in this exhibition. Virginia Zdravkova had the honor and pleasure to present her nice dresses in Barcelona.

French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent died

The greatest contemporary fashion dictator Yves Saint Laurent died in Paris on 1 June 2008 in Paris at the age of 71. After his death the high fashion will not be the same ... For many years he designed clothes that reflected women`s changing role in society, he dressed women in trousers and smokings. He managed to create an epoch of high style - a noble continuation of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior and Cristobal Balenciaga. He really managed to turn the history of apparel in history of the art! The Little Prince of French fashion is not among the living any more, but his million admirers will be with Yves Saint Laurent forever.

Italian designers brought Sicily in Sofia

Young Italian designers visited Bulgaria and presented their author collections. Marko Morreale, Valentina Sciumé, Patermo, Michelle Bono and Luisa Luparello transfered the guests of the fashion show in an exotic sicilian atmosphere.

The garments of the young stylists are with plain and fairy lines, blending colours and stamps. Corals, precious stones, gold, silver are combined with chiffon, jersey and silk. Strong colour contrasts and stamps interweave, giving life of colourful, geometry and art motives.

Bulgarian top models presented the yacht CIGARETTE in Romania

The Bulgarian top models Petya Velikova and the blond pearl Diana Todorova jewelled the queen of yachts CIGARETTE presented on the 3rd yacht show held in the neighbour Romania.

The fine yachts and motor boats made all over the Europe shone in the sun on the very square among the stately buildings and just in front of the Chaushesku`s palace.

CIGARETTE is a yacht presented by the Bulgarian company Yachtpoint. This model attracted all visitors` attention with its gleaming red colour but much more with the beautiful leggy girls conquering the yacht board with graceful step.

Kwiat chose its star in "Become a face of Kwiat" competition

Gea Antonova (age 18) from Sofia is the new winner of „Become a face of Kwiat” competition. She gained the opportunity to take photo session with the newest glass models of Kwiat 2008 collection. She also gained a money prize and „Kwiat Exclusive” sunglasses from the newest 2008 collection.

The jury awarded the second place to Dimitar Stoyanov (age 18) from Sofia. He also gained glasses, model „Kwiat Limited Edition” from the newest 2008 collection. The third place was taken by Anna Ivanova (age 21) from Sofia who gained „Kwiat” sunglasses too. Elena Nosikova (age 18) from Asenovgrad was awarded with the special prize - „Kwiat” sunglasses.

Virginia Zdravkova is invited to be the official designer of the Bulgarian finalists for Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade

The performers of the hit song „DJ, Take Me Away”, Deep Zone Project and Balthazar trusted completely Virginia Zdravkova in the development of their scene costumes. They will present our country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 that will take place in Belgrade on 24 May.

The spectators chose the most original song and it requires modern and extravagant styling.

After the designer took after the style of the leader of "Evro BG Vizia" Aksinia the National television decided to trust her on the looks of the group for the finals in Serbia.

Markam fashion walked like “The Queen`s warrior” at the CPD trend show in Dusseldorf

Markam Fashion was selected to take part among other 9 companies at the CPD Trend show in Düsseldorf from the 10th of February till the 12th of February 2008. The catwalk show had 2 editions every day at the Fashion theater during the International Fashion Fair in Germany.

More than 2000 exhibitors from all over the world were presented at the fair. Markam Fashion was the only Bulgarian brand name singled out for the catwalk.

Radost – The new inspiration of a’s fashion for living

The beautiful face of the TV fashion show „Mirrors“, namely Radost, became a face of the fashion brand A’S FASHION FOR LIVING. She will hold this position for the time of the forthcoming spring-summer season. She already took a special photo session for the famous fashion house. The place was not accidentally chosen. The show-room of Mmobili in Sofia was temporary turned into a TV studio.

"Almanac of Bulgarian fashion 2008": Christmas charity and holiday mood

On 19 December 2007 took place the charitable premiere of "Almanac of Bulgarian fashion 2008" under the patronage of the first lady Ms. Zorka Parvanova. Author of the almanac is prof. Lubomir Stoykov, chairman of the Academy of fashion.

The event was held in Boyana residence. In an auction were sold the first four copies of the book – officially numbered and signed by the author.

Markam Fashion sets up its own monobrand shop chain in Romania

Markam Fashion singed on the 15.12.2007 a franchising agreement with “Eurtrop Consulting” from Bucharest. The Romanian company will open up in 2008 2 monobrand shops of Markam. The first one will be Galleria Mall in Buzau and the second one – mall Berceni in Bucharest. Two more shops will be operating as from 2009 in Bucharest and one in Brashou.

Maria Nedkova showed modern business garments

Fashion house "Anna Maria" with designer Maria Nedkova presented its newest collection autumn-winter 2007-2008 in the Central military club.

The collection comprises of 60 garments, divided in 7 themes. The silhouette of the clothes follows the line of the body. The style is business, however decorated with original details and accents. Shortening the proportions is characteristic of the garments in the collection. The waist is higher - a trend for the season. In the bottom part the silhouette is layered. The trousers are long, type "cigarette" or volume. Most of the jackets are taken in at the waist, some models are with a straight silhouette and with a length to the waist.

Virginia Zdravkova creates for the second time collecion "Lavazza"

Virginia Zdravkova, two times winner of "Golden Needle" award of the Academy of fashion, for the second time creates collection "Lavazza". The magnificent event will take place on 4 December 2007 in Kempinski Hotel Zografski.

Paolina Racheva presents Bulgaria at Miss World 2007

Paolina is 19 years old. She grew up in the town of Ruse, known for its 19th & 20th century Neo-Baroque and Neo-Rococo architecture. It is also a significant Bulgarian river port.

She is currently studying economics and management, her ambition is to be an excellent manager. Paolina enjoys reading, cinema, volleyball, modern ballet, traditional Bulgarian dancing (she won a regional dance competition) and listening to all music from traditional to disco and R’n’B. Her motto is: “The secret of the success is in the perseverance to the aim”.

Eva Herzigova and Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele opened the first boutique of Chopard in Sofia

On 30 November 2007 the supermodel Eva Herzigova and the co-owner and vice presidents of Chopard – Mrs. Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele opened the first luxury shop of the brand in Bulgaria. That is the 103-rd boutique in Chopard in the world and the first in Eastern Europe.

The official ceremony took place at 15:30 p.m. in the boutique at 12 Narodno Sabranie Square. The event was celebrated with Dom Perignon. Eva Herzigova has been a face of Dom Perignon Rose, whose photosession was shot personally by Carl Lagerfeld. The coming graduation season will be unlike any other. It has so far exceeded our boldest expectations and now, half a year before the graduation emotions have reached their peak, I can firmly declare that the graduation fashion campaign has reached its summit. This year our Fashion Psychology Department has designed over 26 models based on girls’ features, which were able to surprise even me in my capacity of Lead Designer of the fashion brand.

If you think, we have once again chosen some exotic and adventurous place for our photo session, you are wrong this time! I have called this collection a “jewelry collection”. It took us more than a year to develop the psychological profiles and design each single dress, to design the new outlines and, literally speaking, encrust the dresses with all stones and crystals with surgical accuracy with each millimeter of them reflected in our design schemes.

The Bulgarian beauty Maria Radeva has reached the final stage of the Image Model 2007 pageant, held in Las Vegas. She has to eliminate only three rivals to grab the title.

One girl is to leave the contest every week after the results of an on-line voting are announced.

The last two models are to face each other in a direct battle in a TV show.

The top model Hristina Hlebarova sits for Simon

Atelier SIMON shot its newest photo session with the top model Hristina Hlebarova, well known from the covers of various fashion magazines. The model, engaged by the Italian fashion agency Elite Model and often travelling between Milano, Athens and Sofia, stopped in her country to shoot the photo session for the prestigeous brand SIMON, standing in front of the camera of photographer Dilyana Florentin.

The photo session includes a part of the new collection formal and wedding outfits, which will be presented on a fashion show of the brand in January 2008.

Miro and Beloslava perform live at Ariston S fashion show

On the evening of 19 November, Grand Hotel Bulgaria hosted the presentation of Ariston S’s Fall/Winter 2007 collection. The oval salon of the hotel barely seated all guests, who gathered to see the stylish fashion show.

The VIP guests were shown the Fall/Winter collection in the most elegant way with a nice, refined style. It is worth mentioning that this is the first fashion show ever in Bulgaria to include live performances by guest artists. Miro from "KariZma" opened the show with a pre-premiere of his new single "Call On Me". While the top models were presenting the collection, the audience could hear for the first time the remix of "Sometime Before".

The designer Alexandra Milusheva is Mrs. Bulgaria 2007

Mrs. Bulgaria 2007 is the designer Alexandra Milusheva Dimitrova. The beauty is a creative director of fashion boutique Astella Atelier. She is 27 years old and is happily married and has a daughter Vanessa - one year and nine months old. Vanessa supported her mother loudly during the show. Alexandra Milusheva was selected to be a face of two from the media partners of the event Grazia magazine and Standart newspaper. She will present our country on the biggest pageant for married women Mrs. World 2008.

The first runner up of Mrs. Bulgaria is Janeta Ivanova from Sofia. She is 27 years old and is recently married (9 months ago).

Famous persons participated in the initiative "Give a dream"

On 20 Noveber 2007 in Grand Hotel Sofia, Sofia hall, in the eve of the Day of the christian family, took place the charity initiative "Give a dream". During the event on an unique charity auction were gathered 30 000 lv. for the future and present children in Bulgaria.

On 30 November 2007 especially for the opening of the first boutique of Chopard in Bulgaria will arrive the supermodel Eva Herzigova, face of the company. The famous model will arrive together with one of the co-owners and vice presidents of Chopard – Mrs. Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele. The two ladies will open the new boutique, which is the 101st in the world and the only one in Eastern Europe.

“Traveller” collection - Ultimate adventurous spirit autumn/winter 2007-2008

It took us approximately 80 hours to shoot our new collection Autumn/Winter 2007-2008 and you have to believe me that each minute of the largest “labour party” in our company history is worthwhile. It had a striking influence on the entire team and Desislava Dencheva, our fashion face, posed seductively in front of the best photographer’s camera in Bulgaria, namely Encho Naydenov. A Russian fishing vessel, an ancient submarine, deserted beaches and specially constructed wooden halls are some of the scenery to which our image makers relied on for the new season. Today I would like to present the tendencies that we the designers working for GALINEL fashion line will follow this season.

Albena Alexandrova chained ladies in beauty

“Chained in beauty” is the newest collection of the designer Albena Alexandrova for “Roshavata garga”.

The three times winner of the award “Golden Needle” of the Academy of fashion admits that the presentation of the models is a protest againts the unification of the luxury collection. The main concept of the creative stylist is that in the century of the Matrix everyone must have its "finger print".

Springfield in “Isolator”

Springfield presented in an original way its new collection men's and women's garments for autumn/winter 2007/2008 in the renovated gallery in Sofia “Rayko Alexiev”. I would like to talk about a different silhouette of the „black dress” – the provocative! Chanel's evening dress was presented for the first time in 1926. How does it look at that time? Very simple: with oval neckline and long narrow sleeves.

Elena from Big Brother 2 presents her fashion collection „Pieces of love”

Elena Georgieva, known as Elena from Big Brother 2, presents her first collection with a fashion performance in the National Theater. The unusual fashion show, named „Pieces of love”, is performed by „Arabesk” ballet. Director is Boris Pankin. The music is by Doors, and the script is a love story.

It took more than a year to the designer to prepare her first collection with the brand of the fashion studio „EGG”. Elena's dream to work in the field of fashion came true.

The Bulgarian Kristina is with the world's hottest bottom

The Bulgarian Kristina Dimitrova (19 years from Sofia) won the prize of 10 000 euro, one year advertising contract with the world famous company for underwear"Triumph" and will present the brand Sloggi, as well as insurance of her bottom. That happened on 31 October 2007 in Munchen at the world finals on the competition “Show me your sloggi”.

Our girl grabbed the title in a very challenged outstrip. The hottest men's bottom belongs to the romanian Andrey Andrey, who is 26 years old and is a professional model. To the media Kristina shared: “I am proud that I am Bulgarian. I thank to my family for the unreserved support and belief in me”.

Exhibition presents the Balkan textile industry

The fifth Balkan Apparel and Textile Exhibition BGate – 2007 was opened with welcome addresses by official guests from the county and abroad. The event was honored with a welcome address by Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Mr Sergey Stanishev and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Mrs Emiliya Maslarova. Welcome address was also delivered by Deputy Minister of Economics and Energetics Mr Luchezar Borisov and Germany’s ambassador H. E. Mr Michael Geier. Thanks to the guests and the exhibitors were expressed by Mrs Valeria Zhekova, chair of the steering committee of BAATRE, and Mr Ilko Ilkov, deputy chair of the steering committee of BAATRE too. Greetings to the Bulgarian traders and producers were given by Mr Giovani Robba, chair of the Italian Apparel and Textile Association.

Felix Dasilva was born in Tel Aviv, Israel in 3 April, 1971. The son of American father from New York and a Brazilian mother from Rio de Janeiro. His father was a corporate lawyer and associate for a Wall Street big law firm and his mother a psychiatrist.

He was born the youngest of 4 siblings. Two older sisters and one brother. Felix travelled a lot with his family during his childhood. Later during his education in the boarding school near Lausanne in the French side of Switzerland he travelled every summer with friends to Africa, Asia or South America. He also explored Alaska and the South Pole so he became a real world traveller at teenage.

Markam conquers Brno
