Fendi Partners With Rihanna For Charity

Rihanna’s charitable ventures continue to grow as it was announced that Fendi has chosen to partner with her, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jourdan Dunn for a special initiative. According to Women’s Wear Daily (via Buro), Rihanna and the other celebrities will design special versions of the new 3Baguette handbag as well as a micro-baguette in celebration of Fendi’s new flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York.

The Italian luxury brand’s current creative director is none other than Karl Lagerfeld while the accessories designer is Silvia Venturini Fendi and both will host an event on February 13 at the flagship store where the designs will be revealed for the first time. The proceeds from the sale of Rihanna’s handbags will go to her own Clara Lionel Foundation, which was founded in 2012 in honour of the superstar’s grandparents.

Let’s take a look at the 3Baguette that she will be re-designing:

Released last year, the 3Baguette is an updated version of the brand’s classic and beloved Baguette handbag. It has an adjustable shoulder strap that goes from 6″-12″ that allows it to be worn in three ways – as a clutch, shoulder bag or handbag – hence the name 3Baguette. But the coolest feature is the playful new clasp. The brand’s logo clasp rotates, flips and slides and in the photo above you can see a bit of how it works. A black calfskin 3Baguette currently retails for $2,550 but I expect these special edition handbags will cost a bit more especially if exotic skins like python are used in the creation.
