Schiaparelli Explores the Power of Imagination with Surreal Haute Couture FW26 Collection

Schiaparelli once again challenged the boundaries between fashion, art and fantasy with its Fall/Winter 2026-2027 Haute Couture collection, The Call of the Void. Under the creative direction of Daniel Roseberry, the legendary Parisian Maison presented a dramatic exploration of uncertainty, creativity and the endless possibilities born from imagination.

Unveiled during Paris Haute Couture Week, the collection reflected Roseberry’s personal creative process and his search for a new artistic direction. After the pressure of following a highly successful previous season, the designer chose to step away from expectations and embrace experimentation. The result was a collection built around the idea that true innovation appears when creativity is freed from rules and familiar formulas.

Inspired by the surrealist legacy of Elsa Schiaparelli, the collection transformed couture into a space where dreams, technology and craftsmanship meet. Roseberry explored the relationship between beauty and invention, questioning whether luxury is defined by precious materials or by the imagination that gives them new meaning.

The Maison’s exceptional ateliers brought this vision to life through extraordinary techniques and unconventional materials. Sculptural silhouettes, hyper-realistic silicone creations, architectural volumes and experimental surfaces created garments that appeared almost otherworldly. Latex, painted textures and unexpected organic references were transformed into couture pieces that blurred the line between clothing and contemporary art.

Signature Schiaparelli elements were reinvented with a futuristic and fantastical approach. Dramatic bustiers, sculpted crinolines, jackets decorated with botanical and marine-inspired details, and accessories resembling creatures from an imaginary universe revealed the house’s commitment to fearless creativity.

The collection’s colour palette echoed the natural world while maintaining Schiaparelli’s unmistakable identity. Shades inspired by ocean depths, tropical landscapes and exotic flora — including lobster pink, saffron, soft mint and the Maison’s iconic gold — created a surreal atmosphere where nature and fantasy existed together.

Despite the spectacular materials and artistic experimentation, Roseberry highlighted that the true essence of haute couture lies in the skill and dedication of the artisans behind every creation. Their craftsmanship allows designers to transform impossible ideas into reality and gives couture its unique emotional value.

With The Call of the Void, Schiaparelli once again demonstrated that haute couture is not simply about creating beautiful garments — it is about storytelling, imagination and the courage to explore unfamiliar territories. The collection celebrates the unknown as a source of inspiration, proving that the most memorable moments in fashion often emerge when creativity has no limits.
