Armani Exchange with a debut at Pitti Uomo 96

The Armani Exchange line debuts at Pitti Uomo. "In 1991, I had an idea and I called it A|X. Looking at the reality of streetwear, before it became just another fad, I created metropolitan garments that were functional and affordable for younger generations or for individuals with a young mindset. The same spirit continues to this day in garments and accessories that accelerate towards an urban rhythm, while maintaining the quintessence of effortlessness and the dynamic attitude present in Giorgio Armani’s DNA”. - Giorgio Armani

A/X Armani Exchange was created in 1991 as a joint venture between Giorgio Armani and some of its production and distribution partners. In 2014, the Italian luxury label took full control of the line, and decided to reposition A/X Armani Exchange on the market, evolving it from a fast-fashion brand to a “young, accessible label.”
