An outfit by Axel Hardy featured on the cover of Scorpio Jin Magazine
The “Power” dress by Bulgarian designer Axel Hardy doesn’t just impress with its appearance – it redefines modern femininity. Created specifically for a collaboration with the New York fashion platform Flying Solo, this bold designer interpretation made its way to the cover of the May issue of the prestigious Scorpio Jin Magazine.
The design comes in two versions – one is available for direct purchase at Flying Solo’s showroom, while the other, featuring slight design modifications, is part of the curated selection at Cooper Room – a PR space where fashion experts and stylists choose pieces for photo shoots and special events. It was the latter version that stylist Jacqueline Lunkes selected for a shoot executed by world-renowned photographer Alex Korolkovas. The model featured is Brazilian top model Laila Pacheco.
The “Power” dress is created for the woman with a strong inner force – a modern-day Amazon unafraid to show who she is. It is a blend of boldness and elegance, designed to emphasize the confidence and individuality of every woman who wears it. This is not just a fashion item – it is a statement, a visual manifesto of confidence and style.
The main fabric is a fine cotton jersey with a texture reminiscent of ancient luxury, while the signature drawstrings filling the slits of the dress are a hallmark of Hardy’s style. Combined with elements of natural silk in a deep petroleum hue, the silhouette follows the body’s shape, and the waist section offers adaptability through a concealed drawstring that can be adjusted and gathered – a nod to freedom of expression and adaptability.
Despite the challenges along the way, the designer decided to send the dress for the shoot, guided by intuition and confidence in the value of the design.
“This piece embodies my vision of today’s woman – strong, unique, and fully self-aware. Every detail has a role and meaning. I only present a design to the public when it is completely finished according to my internal standards,” shares Axel Hardy.
The photo selected for the magazine cover appears in an edition spanning over 160 pages, available both digitally and in print. This recognition is a significant achievement for Hardy and yet another affirmation of her rise as a leading name on the fashion scene. With “Power,” she not only showcases her artistic prowess but also positions Bulgaria on the global fashion map.
