As part of a two-day program in Bulgaria, the partners of the VERDEinMED project from Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and the associated partner from Tunisia held a steering committee meeting in Ruse and visited Varna, where they learned about best practices in the field of circular economy.
The meeting was organized by the Bulgarian Fashion Association with Chairman Silvia Kabaivanova and Vice Chairmen Milen Dobrev and Dean Manev.
The first day of the program took place at the Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was dedicated to presenting the progress achieved and discussing the key steps for the future work on the project.
The second day included a visit to the sea capital, with the main highlight being the visit to the company TexCycle – a global leader in the circular economy for the textile sector. Founded in 2000 as a textile sorting company in Bulgaria, today TexCycle operates on five continents, focusing on collection, sorting, and the development of innovative solutions for textile recycling.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for exchanging experience and ideas related to the circular economy and the sustainable development of the textile industry in the Mediterranean.
