Bulgarian Brand Metamorphoza Dresses Metal Star Tarja Turunen

The Finnish legend embarks on a European tour wearing outfits by a Bulgarian designer brand

The emblem of Scandinavian metal Tarja Turunen has chosen the Bulgarian avant-garde fashion brand Metamorphoza for her upcoming European tour.

A brilliant soprano, composer, and lyricist, Tarja Turunen began her career with the symphonic metal band Nightwish, going on to become one of the most recognizable and influential rock voices of our time. An artist with a strong individuality and uncompromising presence, Tarja has for years openly expressed her love for the Bulgarian audience, and one of her first vocal coaches was Bulgarian. Against this background, her choice to trust a Bulgarian brand with her stage wardrobe comes as a completely natural decision.

“When Tarja’s team contacted us, we were incredibly excited. She is everything our garments embody – a free spirit, strong individuality, and authentic style,” share Veselina Svilarska and Dinko Ivanov, founders of Metamorphoza.

Turunen personally selected several looks in which she will appear before the audience starting on January 29 in Lisbon, followed by performances on a number of European stages, including Bilbao and London.

“It is extremely inspiring for us that Tarja wishes to continue working together on her next project in December. This means new stage looks created especially for her, and we hope the process will also include a personal meeting to work on the final details,” adds Veselina Svilarska, lead designer of Metamorphoza.

The project with Tarja Turunen is another international step for Metamorphoza and a clear sign of the growing presence of Bulgarian designer brands beyond the country’s borders. The appearance of a world metal icon in outfits created in Bulgaria is a strong recognition of the quality, vision, and competitiveness of the local designer scene.

Metamorphoza is a Bulgarian fashion brand founded in 2014 by Veselina Svilarska and Dinko Ivanov.
