Roland Mouret - autumn-winter 2013/2014
The French designer, Roland Mouret loves Paris as well as Parisians and nobody embodies Parisians better than Catherine Deneuve in "The Hunger". She is unforgettable as the mysterious vampire, dressed with style and elegance. Mouret's collection is inspired by her: she is like an unmatched warrior woman, wrapped in sensual and chic dresses, but completely controlled by French flair and seduction.
"This is a journey," he said. "It's the little black dress, leopard prints, red and black makeup," says the designer.
Roland Mouret seeks to revive the Parisian identity and recreate it in his collection. His models are highly subordinated to the silhouettes and shapes with sharp lines and geometric details. The Mouret silhouette is all about the sculptural and the seasonal materials (satin, leather, wool, gabardine), combined beautifully with animalistic prints (mainly leopard). Jackets are short and slightly remind of those worn in fencing, combined with skirts or tight pants. Coats are rectangular in various contrasting colors.
Dresses are knee-length and most used colors are: white, black, turquoise, sapphire, green, dark blue, bright red. Used accessories are sunglasses with small lenses and dynamic forms, small handbags and high heel pointed toe shoes.
