H&M Studio Spring/Summer 2016 - first look
During Paris Fashion Week H&M presented the H&M Studio SS16 collection.
”Always exploring, always glamorous, always on an adventure” – according to H&M, the upcoming Studio collection is all about taking every opportunity that comes.
So when we got the opportunity of getting a first look at the collection, we seized it and went to Paris for fashion week.
H&M had transformed a wing of the Louvre Palace into a spectacular canyon, where invited editors and other fashion pros could walk around and have a closer look at the spring Studio Collection. The colour scheme went from primary shades and sun-faded yellows to eggshell and tea-dyed naturals. Key items were a yarn-dyed workwear blazer, a yellow sequin halterneck top, functional sport leggings, spaghetti strap dresses and patchwork jeans, made from fabrics like silk, organic cotton and Tencel. Oh, and there was an amazing kaftan that we predict will be the must-have item for spring.
"Our girl is always exploring, whether she’s on the city streets or on the trip of a lifetime. - Pernilla Wohlfarth, H&M’s head of design.
“H&M Studio for spring/summer 2016 is an adventure in style. Our girl is always exploring, whether she’s on the city streets or on the trip of a lifetime. She mixes function with femininity, sportswear with pieces for a party, and whatever she wears she always looks effortless,” says Pernilla Wohlfarth, H&M’s head of design.
The theme of H&M Studio SS16 is journeys; as a way of life, from finding yourself in the city to travelling into the unknown. The mix of functionality (drawstring details, hoodies and leggings) and a bohemian femininity (prints, throw-on layers and floaty dresses) is essential in the collection, which will be available in selected stores and on hm.com from 25 February, 2016.
