Christian Louboutin Slip on shoes
Expanding on well-loved slip-on styles in his men’s collection, including the Dandelion loafer, SS17 sees Christian Louboutin introduce a new range to join his beautiful classics – an expanded collection of more casual, timehonored loafers. For the season, a new last was developed; with a curved vamp and higher toe spring, it offers a relaxed, easy, elegant look for the Louboutin ‘homme.’
In a photographic series shot by Paris-based Rene Habermacher, the innate elegance and ease of these classic styles come to life in a highly stylised and sensual environment taking inspiration from official portrait sittings.
Embellished with a laser-cut geometric leather collage that recalls abstracted palm leaves, Explomoc leads the charge for the season. The West-Coast-inspired loafer delivers an ultra-cool, even mod look in monochromatic black, bicolour black and white or a sunny multicolour mix.
Dirk makes a statement whether in bright Full Moon yellow or classic tan Cappucino veau velours. Leisurely crafted, a raised silk relief on the vamp boasts a double figure eight loop knot, traditionally used in sailing, climbing and now here, adorning artisanal footwear.
Let them not forget that in the hands of Christian Louboutin, even the most classic of styles earn a twist, a wink, an allusion to something a little less expected. Masculine Montezumo, for one, invites a second look. In lustrous black abrasivato leather, an unexpected eye-mask detail embellishment recalls the masks worn by los luchadores, agile Mexican wrestlers.
