Cartier 100th anniversary in America celebration

Cartier hosted its 100th Anniversary in America Celebration and presented the exhibition Cartier... 100 Years of Passion and Free Spirit in America. It displays 100 one-of-a-kind Cartier Collection creations and also showcases along side pieces loaned from private collections of some of Cartier's most celebrated clients. The exhibition was opened in the Cartier Fifth Avenue Mansion in New York and will run through May 21st before moving to Cartier's Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive boutique and running June 1-14, 2009.

The event was attended by many celebrities such as the actresses Demi Moore, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Eva Mendes, Kate Hudson, Rachel Weisz, the musician Justin Timberlake, the designer Zac Posen etc.

The event honored Bruce Weber and the launch of his new book, Cartier I Love You: Celebrating 100 Years of Cartier In America.

The evening also benefitted ServiceNation, a coalition of 190 nonprofit organizations that seeks to expand opportunities for Americans to serve at every life-stage and make service a core element of our culture. The ultimate vision of the ServiceNation coalition—which has a collective reach of some 100 million—is that by 2020 1 million Americans annually will volunteer for a year of national service, and another 100 million will spend time as community volunteers. A portion of the proceeds of the Bruce Weber book will go to ServiceNation.

Cartier also announced its partnership with ServiceNation at a press conference with Demi Moore where a new Trinity charity bracelet was debuted benefit the charity. The new limited-edition Trinity bracelet in 18k yellow, rose and white gold and diamonds, will be sold on individual red, white and blue silk cords at all Cartier boutiques nationwide.
