IFEMA will present the fashion shows of 40 great Spanish designers of the moment at the 59th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFWM), an event organised by IFEMA and the best showcase for creation and new trends in Spain within the field of fashion, will hold its fifty-ninth event from 14th to 18th February 2014 at Feria de Madrid.
Over a period of five days, Hall 14.1 at Feria de Madrid will provide the setting for the forty best Spanish designers of the moment to present their collections for Autumn/Winter 2014-15.
This new staging of MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK MADRID, an event that has taken place over a period of almost three decades and has proven to be a key showcase for the Spanish fashion industry, will bring together an entire range of aesthetical languages presented by the participating designers, as encapsulated in their latest new collections. Furthermore, on this occasion MBFWM will coincide with MOMAD METROPOLIS in terms of its dates and venue. MOMAD METROPOLIS, the International Fashion Trade Show, is the most important multi-sector fashion event on the Iberian Peninsula, and its coincidence with MBFWM will generate an important sense of synergy between the two events.
The 40 established designers and brands at MBFWM will be complemented by 21 emerging fashion talents, who will present their collections at the SAMSUNG EGO Showroom located in CIBELESPACIO, featuring direct sale to members of the general public.
One of the new features on this occasion at Fashion Week will consist of Davidelfín's return to the catwalk, whilst Ion Fiz, Etxeberría and Juana Martín will all present their collections at solo fashion shows. Furthermore, in the same way as at its last few events, Madrid's Fashion Week will enjoy strong support on the part of the private sector in the form of sponsorship. We might highlight the strong levels of involvement and commitment that the sponsoring brands offer this fashion event, over and above their financial support, effectively providing a range of different services that create an added-value dimension and raise awareness of their brands.
AA by Amaya Arzuaga opens the catwalk schedule
As occurred at the last event, the catwalk schedule will take place from Friday to Tuesday. The first four days will be devoted to the catwalk presentations organised by established designers belonging to the Fashion Designers Association of Spain (ACME), together with various other designers who do not belong to this Association, not to mention a double fur fashion show.
On the last day, Tuesday, as in previous years, the collections belonging to the young designers taking part at the SAMSUNG EGO Forum will be presented at five double fashion shows.
The collection, AA by Amaya Arzuaga, will open the catwalk schedule on Friday 14th February at 11.00 am. It will be followed by fashion shows featuring the collections of Roberto Verino, Miguel Palacio, Etxeberría, Devota & Lomba and Duyos. Aristocrazy, which specialises in fashionable jewellery, will close the first day with its third fashion show at MBFWM, featuring a truly spectacular event.
The double fashion show staged by Martín Lamothe and María Barros will open the Saturday programme, which will also feature the collections of Ailanto, Francis Montesinos, Angel Schlesser, Teresa Helbig, Juana Martin and Roberto Torretta.
On the following day, Sunday, the double fashion show staged by Juan Vidal and Moisés Nieto, two names from the new generation of Spanish designers, will inaugurate the third day. They will be followed by the creations of Andrés Sardá, Ana Locking, Victorio&Lucchino, Ion Fiz and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.
Davidelfín will kick off the Monday schedule, which will also feature the fashion shows staged by Hannibal Laguna and Juanjo Oliva. A double fashion show presented by Carlos Díez and María Escoté, as well as a double fur catwalk featuring the creations of Miguel Marinero and Jesús Lorenzo, will conclude the catwalk schedule devoted to established designers at this staging of MBFWM.
