Five top-earning women in music

American singer Beyonce is the top-earning woman in music for the past year.

From June 2013 to June 2014, Beyonce earned $115m (£71.8m).

Forbes reports that 2013/2014 was 'the biggest year of Beyonce's career' with a bestselling new album, clothing and fragrance lines, sponsorships from H&M and Pepsi and a hugely profitable tour.

Taylor Swift is the second most profiting female musician, earning $64m (£40m) - this figure does not include any of the money from Swift's new record, '1989', which has sold more than 1.5m copies during its first week on sale.

Next three places are taken by Pink with $52m, Rihanna - $48m and Katy Perry - $40m.
