CLAMTEX Virtual Marketplace and workshops: Towards Industry 4.0 in the textile industry

Industry 4.0 is the future of manufacturing, also for the textile industry. The European Cluster Strategic Partnership for Excellence, CLAMTEX - Cluster management towards excellence in Advanced Manufacturing and Textile Industry, is organizing a 6-week interactive virtual workshops to promote the uptake of Industry 4.0 in the textile sector.

Industry 4.0

During the 6 weeks sessions, from January 20th to February 24th 2021, participants will learn about potential solutions industrially applicable to drive the digital transformation. The virtual sessions will be highly interactive. Textile companies will present specific challenges in the implementation of technologies related to Industry 4.0 and receive potential solutions. In addition, participating companies will be able to participate in virtual B2B meetings with potential providers of industry 4.0 solutions and other textile companies through a virtual platform.

The first day of the program, January 20th, will focus on inspirational talks on the digital transition process by high level speakers including:

- Roadmap to Future by Željko PAZIN (European Factories of the Future Research Association)

- Digital microfactory by Dieter Stellmach from Institute of Textile Technology and Process Engineering (DITF)

- Should I stay or should I go – transition manufacturing into the 21 Century, Joachim Hensch (Chief Transition Officer, Interim Manager, Mentor at Joachim Hensch Consulting).

The next days, CLAMTEX Virtual Marketplace will have a dedicated topic from “Digital solutions for integrated industrial management” (Jan 27th), “Automation and sensitization solutions for performance improvement” (Feb 3rd), “Robots in industry” (Feb 10th) and “The potential of virtual reality in industry” (Feb 17th). Each session will have an inspirational talk from a success story in the topic, followed by a firsthand discussion of challenges textile companies are facing and the presentation of advanced technologies available.

The last day of the Virtual Marketplace series, February 24th, will focus on the presentation of funding opportunities for textile companies and advanced manufacturing companies to support collaboration in the implementation of the digital transition process. Featured talks include representatives from the European Agency of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (EASME), EIT Manufacturing, GALACTICA and ELIIT.

The CLAMTEX Virtual Marketplace is part of the ClusterXchange program implemented by CLAMTEX to foster cross-regional collaboration among cluster members.
