Undercolors of Benetton Spring/Summer 2011 Collection
LA VIE EN ROSE - Edith Piaf certainly didn’t draw inspiration from the mascot of this theme, but she would have smiled when she saw our perky little pig on pyjamas, underwear and homewear for the whole family.
ROMANCE - We can almost smell the fragrance of this pastel-hued flowery bouquet blooming on microfiber and cotton underwear. The romantic atmosphere goes even further with broderie anglaise sets in classic white or the new denim effect. Nightwear has knitted or lace touches on soft Modal nightdresses and pyjamas.
MAKE UP - Get that spring feeling with this light-hearted mix ‘n’ match of colours on T-shirts, bras, briefs, pyjamas and swimwear. Gingham checks, maxi fruit and flowers, jumbo polka-dots and rich tartans turn each article into an explosion of colour that can’t go unnoticed.
TOO SMALL FOR ME - More witty print motifs, this time a giraffe sticks its neck out on T-shirts and homewear, under the script “too small for me”. Matching Queen of Africa trousers and camo-print underwear in shades of pink, green and white.
MELTING POT - This theme creates a truly magical mix. From a palette of dusty, natural shades, we can have fun choosing lacy underwear sets with a sprayed effect or camo over-dyeing. Printed polka dots on a beige background give pyjamas a softer look.
JUNGLE FEVER - Bold colours teamed with natural shades give an exotic air to bikinis, cover-ups and men’s boxers. Turquoise and brown or beige and magenta create tranquil contrasts, perfect on reversible swimwear. Floral and geometric patterns can be freely paired with irregular stripes. The “fluid” look of viscose creates soft draping on asymmetric cover-ups.
CRUISE TIME - A sophisticated style expressed through two-piece swimwear and cover-ups in dress or maxi playsuit styles. “Neo-batik” blue and white are the prominent colours in a story where purples and taupes also play a role. Beads and metallic or translucent appliqués add a precious touch.
BORA BORA - Violet, fuchsia, lime, yellow and turquoise lead us naturally to an island where the main article of clothing is only and always a swimsuit. Both she and he display hibiscus flowers on skimpy bikinis and boxer shorts. In this theme, brightly coloured cover-ups take the shape of softly draped maxi dresses.
