The next guest of The Atelier with Alina Cho will be fashion designer Michael Kors, Honorary Chairman & Chief Creative Officer of Michael Kors, on Wednesday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m. at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Kors, a renowned creator of 21st-century American style for women and men, is as adept with words as he is with design. The master of cut and one-liners will share his humor and insight with veteran journalist Alina Cho. They will explore the details of how Kors built his empire over the last three decades, beginning as a five-year-old advising his mother on her wedding dress, to his role as a judge on Project Runway, on through his company's IPO and success as a public company.
'The new universe of Versace - Fibre optic tracksuits, space-age metallic trenches, sleek tailoring and astrological prints. The Versace Fall/Winter 2016 man is a pioneer and his ambition is as big as the universe', says brand's statement.
Provocative evening gowns, bright pastel colors, chic V-neck tops, skinny trousers, 70s style short dresses combined with tall boots, autumnal floral and leaf patterns, fine lace, a sense of luxury - you can find all this and much more in Atelier Versace Fall-Winter 2015/2016 collection.
'This Versace collection is stripped back to the Versace soul. Stripped because I took off all of the decorations. You are going to find a pure Versace soul that stands on its own', said Donatella Versace about her Fall-Winter 2015/2016 creations.
Donatella Versace is a character who always manages to surprise her audience. First she charms with her campaign, whose face is her friend Lady Gaga, and now this irresistible pageant of colors, chic and glamor. This is the main idea of the new line of high-end designer. The concept of the Atelier Versace Couture Collection is best described by Donatella - " Modern goddess : power , determination, strength and shine - that's what I was thinking about the collection. How this woman can show her soft side , being Versace . Versace because it is always very effective."
Inspired by “the street - which is the new catwalk,” she did, in fact, let the Versace girl breathe a little. Not only that, she made a play for ordinary fabrics and gave them Versace swagger.
Donatella Versace has created Spring-Summer 2013 collection full of gold, pastels, Roman inspired clothes and half nudity. Her inspirations were gladiators, Mister T and Elvis. Versace men's collection 2013 is pure fun and high level of luxury. But it still contains some wearable extravagant garments. Colors, variegation, freshness and a bit of craziness are keywords for Versace Spring-Summer 2013 men's collection.
Pieces of Versace Spring-Summer 2013 collection, created by Donatella Versace for 'Atelier Versace', can be defined as 'tailoring with a lingerie edge'. Yes, it includes a few oversized jackets, known as 'boyfriend jackets', but they couldn't catch the eye like the lacy tops with their crinkles, slashes and low-slung belts. The casual almost-nudity of slashed 'n' laced skirts and slipdresses fitted right in. Striated colors reminds about desert sands and deep, warm blue - about night skies over Cabo.
Versace Spring-Summer 2013 collection at Milan Fashion Week: Original, attractive, feminine and sexy
Original, attractive, feminine and sexy - those are the words coming to my mind looking at the Spring-Summer 2013 collection of Versace. The models were presented today at Milan Fashion Week.
The colours that dominate in the collection are black, blue, shades of gold and orange. Attractive belts are worn on the lower waist, giving a careless but stylish look. Dresses are short and sexy. A popular look is the one sleeve dress.
It is still hot outside, but we decided to look at the Fall-Winter season and present to you an interesting and different Versace collection. Usually Donatella Versace designs sexy little dresses in bright colours and with interesting prints, but for Fall-Winter 2012/2013 she focused on dark monochrome colours and gothic elements. Fashion experts say it was kind of tribute to her brother and founder of the brand Gianni Versace.
Versace Fall-Winter 2012/2013 collection abounds with corseted minidresses with crucifixes both printed and made with the use of crystals and sequins, dark turtlenecks and leather pencil skirts, biker jackets and throat-tight coat-dresses.
The designer - whose fashion partner brother Gianni was murdered in 1997 - insists
she has always had a strong interest in clothing after being introduced to
styling by Gianni when they were children.
She said: "Gianni was almost 10 years older than I, but he was in love with fashion. When I was about 10 or 11, Gianni started to play with me being his model. He'd try clothes on me and ask, "What do you think?" He was pushing me to do my hair lighter - to bleach it. So I was a fashion addict by the time I was 11 years old. I'd wear a miniskirt and patent-leather boots.
