Breitling, the Swiss watch brand with a worldwide reputation for luxurious high-performance timepieces, hosted a dazzling celebration of its entry into the Chinese market with a red-carpet gala night at Beijing’s breathtaking Phoenix Center on November 20, 2018. International movie stars and Breitling Cinema Squad members Brad Pitt and Daniel Wu were on hand to mark the occasion, along with surfer Sally Fitzgibbons and photographer and filmmaker Peter Lindbergh. They were joined by personalities from the worlds of fashion, high society, sport, music, and film, including Japanese fashion designer Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi, South Korean actress Shin Se-Kyung, Chinese actress Qi Wei, and Chinese actor Li Zonghan.
Breitling takes off into a legendary future
At a red-carpet event at Zurich’s Hallenstadion, Breitling, the innovative Swiss watch brand, celebrated the debut of its new Navitimer 8 collection. Around 600 distinguished guests from the worlds of business, culture, and entertainment, as well as international media and opinion leaders, were welcomed by Breitling’s new global CEO, Georges Kern, who introduced his brand’s next chapter. Special guests included Gregory Breitling, the grandson of Willy Breitling, as well as adventurers Bertrand Piccard and Inge Solheim, members of the Breitling Jet Team and the Patrouille Suisse, French actor Guillaume Canet, and British actor Richard E. Grant, among many others. The event was the European stop on Breitling’s international tour, which debuted in Shanghai in late January and which will move on to New York City at the end of February.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of this milestone invention that would change the face of the modern chronograph, Breitling introduces the Transocean Chronograph in a 1,915-piece limited series, equipped with a new manufacture monopusher movement featuring a double column-wheel system (patent pending), a transparent sapphire crystal back and a vintage-inspired dial.
