Burberry appoints Riccardo Tisci as Chief Creative Officer
Riccardo, who is a graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, will direct all Burberry collections and present his first for the brand in September. He will be based at Burberry’s headquarters in London.
An Evening of Smart Innovation that Showcased New Standards for Fashion
On Thursday, March 22nd, C.L.A.S.S., with support from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), hosted an intimate gathering of fashion’s industry leaders, educators, designers and members of the press to celebrate An Evening of Smart Innovation. The event was beautifully orchestrated by Ginger Design, an exceptional team of Italian creatives, filmmakers, food and textile designers as a way to create a unique immersive experience telling the story of C.L.A.S.S.’ visionary journey. Thus, providing guests with an awareness and chance to embrace knowledge related to four key areas that set new standards for fashion vital to C.L.A.S.S.’ business philosophy: Heritage, Smart Innovation, Circular Economy and Design Responsibility.
The 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards nominees & honorees are in
Raf Simons, Virgil Abloh, and Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen lead in the number of nominations for the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards in partnership with Swarovski. Each received two nominations this year: Simons and Abloh for Womenswear and Menswear Designer of the Year for Calvin Klein and Off-White respectively, and the Olsens for Womenswear and Accessory Designer of the Year for The Row.

Michael Bastian is a luxury American menswear designer born in Lyons, New York, a small upstate town near lake Ontario. Upon graduating from Babson college in 1987, he moved to Manhattan, taking his first job as an assistant buyer at Abraham & Strauss. Subsequently taking on roles of increasing acclaim at world-renowned institutions—Sotheby’s, tiffany & co., and Ralph Lauren—Bastian was appointed as men’s fashion director at Bergdorf Goodman in 2000. It was during his five-year tenure there that he was inspired to introduce his eponymous line, Michael Bastian.
