In the fringes of the EU Research and Innovation Days, the European Commission has announced 9 new European co-funded and co-programmed partnerships, including “Textiles of the Future”. These partnerships will be at the core of the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025-2027, addressing the green and digital transition, and a more resilient, competitive, inclusive and democratic Europe.
‘The Status of European Fashion’ conference of the European Fashion Alliance shaped the future of European fashion
On March 5th, the European Fashion Alliance (EFA) held its first conference ‘The Status of European Fashion’, in Brussels, Belgium. The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders who discussed crucial topics shaping the future of European fashion. In preparation for the conference, EFA conducted a comprehensive Europe-wide survey on the impending sustainability legislation affecting the fashion industry, which results and recommendations will be published until end of April. The survey aimed to assess the current state of the European fashion landscape and identify significant challenges and opportunities in anticipation of impending regulatory changes. First learnings were presented to the audience.

Many European companies have already chosen this path, therefore the strategy should support them in this process, especially considering today’s energy crisis.

118 organisations signed today the Textile Clothing Leather Footwear (TCLF) Pact for Skills, an initiative promoted by the European Commission and coordinated by EURATEX. The signatories acknowledge the skills challenge in the textiles ecosystem, and commit to invest in reskilling and upskilling workers, integrating green and digital skills and improving the attractiveness of the sector. Members of the Pact will benefit from networking, guidance and resources offered by the EC to implement the targets which are proposed in the Pact.

European Fashion Award FASH 2016 Awarded to Seven Promising Young Designers
At the start of Berlin Fashion Week, seven promising young designers were awarded the European Fashion Award FASH 2016. The awards, valued at EUR 200,000 in total, were presented in front of 250 guests on Monday evening by the non-profit organization SDBI –Stiftung der Deutschen Bekleidungsindustrie (German Fashion Industry Foundation). The ceremony took place in the impressive halls of Berlin’s Neues Museum, part of the Museum Island UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mrs. European Union contest took place in St. Vlas, Bulgaria
Hotel Saint George Palace in St. Vlas, Bulgaria was a center of the beautiful European event - the contest Mrs. European Union 2011.
The 30-year old Olena Koch from Germany is the new Mrs. European Union. She was crowned by Elena Karakoleva, last year winner. Elena was dressed in a black dress from the brand Enzoani for Celebrities 2012. The dress is made from 35 meters natural silk with laser-cut elements, hand embroidered flowers and Swarovski crystals. The outfit was given to Elena from the director of the company Dick van Zutphen, partner of Bridal Fashion.
H&M and Zara to launch online shopping in Europe
H&M and Zara are launching newer websites in September with real e-commerce ventures.
Zara has announced that it will unveil its new online store on September 2 in UK, France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
From 2011, it will be expanded to the United States, Japan and South Korea.
Zara already prepare the ground with its Facebook page, launched last year with 4.4 million fans to this day.

The winner in the contest Model of Bulgaria 2010 Lachezara Kuncheva become the face of hit Bulgarian shoes ADI - Lady's Shoes , which already conquered the European markets. The beautiful lady shoot a stylish photo session for the new spring-summer collection of ladies shoes.
The attractive photo session was made by team of proven professionals led by Tsenko Dimitrov – photographer and fashion stylist Tanya Beykova. The haircut of Lachezara was made by the hairdresser of the BTV-show “Moderno” – Lachezar Yovov, makeup – by Daniela Garabedyan and graphic design – Studio UXP.
European Future Fashion - a fashion event you should not miss
Europe Future Fashion will be organized in Split, from 4 to 6 June 2010 aiming become one of the most representative fashion events in the South East Europe.
