The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium, popular by its nickname SBAC, is a graded exam consortium which is created by the Common Core State Standards which is adopted by a number of states. The test comes with automatic essay scoring. The main aim of the consortium is to become the leading provider of the multi-state test in connection with the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for the Colleges and Careers, also known as PARCC.

The Woolmark Company, Brioni, Accademia Costume & Moda: Positive work between education and industry
For the Industry Project “The Woolmark Company, Brioni, Accademia Costume & Moda”, the III Year students at Accademia Costume & Moda (BA in Costume & Fashion), re-interpreted Brioni menswear, using Woolmark’s fabrics, merino wool and the iconic details of contemporary menswear style. The outfits, completed by a selection of accessories (shoes, travel bags and small leathergoods), were presented during the event Accademia Factory 2017 at the presence of Francesco Magri, Country Manager and Birgit Galen, Global Fashion Coordinator, The Woolmark Company.
The traditional final event of the academic year took place on July 5th at 9.30 pm at the NABA campus in Milan. Almost 200 students from the BA in Fashion Design (60 of which attended the course in Fashion Styling & Communication) and 45 students of the MA in Fashion and Textile Design were able to celebrate their hard work with a catwalk attended by press, fashion institutions, companies and influencers, besides their teachers and families.

Kingston University fashion student created Haute Edible Couture fashion series – new strain of edible “clothing”. The young designer lives by the expression “you are what you eat” and creates intricate designs, all of which are edible. Emily Crane uses gelatin, seaweed and food dyes to form her beautiful garments and accessories.
If you are finishing school this year and you are choosing your prom dress now, it is not bad to think whether it should be long or short. Every girl dreams to be irresistible and stunning, but our advice is to weigh all the "for" and "against" about a vision before you choose it.
Short and long dresses have both advantages and disadvantages.
"The aim of the contest was to motivate the young people to get to know the traditions and culture in the field of garments and design of the people in the European Union. And to recreate them to fit todays conditions of life and fashion trends", shared the organizers. The participants sent their ideas as fashion sketches and the 15 best ideas received help to develop them and present the clothes in the fashion show. It is curious that most ideas were taken from traditional men's costumes and originally transformed in provocative women's garments.
On 16 December students in fashion in New Bulgarian university showed their creations. The fashion show is a result from the work of students and teachers who prepared the models in the course of several months for this big event. The artistic fantasy and inspiration of the young people, their non-standard ideas were realized very successfully. The fashion show presented the style and methods of education in fashion in the university. The students designed and produced the clothes on their own.
The fashion show was separated in two themes - Winter kaleidoscope and Clothes & armor.
University teaching has many advantages (although it has some disadvantages, which we are not going to discuss here and now) – it makes you feel always young because you are constantly communicating with students; gives you an opportunity to feel satisfied because of the awareness that you live a meaningful life and that there is someone to whom you could pass on your experience and knowledge; gives you a certain emotional-intellectual feeling and thus a special vitamin of spiritual confidence, for which there is no analogue.
