GALACTICA first call for proposals to support new value chains by European innovative SMEs
GALACTICA, which aims to demonstrate the viability of new industrial value chains regarding the textile and aerospace sectors based on advanced manufacturing across the EU, launched the first Call for proposals, with a total budget of 1.2 M€ to support European SMEs. The Call for proposals is addressed to the European SMEs and start-ups that plan to develop innovative solutions that could be part of cross-sectoral and cross-border value chains with two different funding lines.

Fashion designers, Say 'No' to black business suits
The classic men's suit is most wanted for corporate and formal wear. Huge amounts of garments are sewn in black, gray and blue and this makes male's style in offices extremely unattractive and impersonal. The 'fashion' element is actually missing.

Youth unemployment is at critical levels - in the EU 23.3 percent (5.5 million) of those under the age of 25 are jobless, according to EU figures.
The European Union is preparing a 6-billion-euro ($8-billion) package to address the problem. The money will be used to help young people find jobs or vocational training. There are several ways the money can be spent to fight youth unemployment. But what I believe will be the best option is to support entrepreneurship among the unemployed young people.

Fashion, music and dance merged into an exciting spectacle - The contest for young designers "Richmart Innovation" during the International Fashion Forum – Ruse 2010 was held on April 23 at the City Theatre on the beautiful Danube city of Ruse.
The winner, Nikolai Bozhilov from the National Academy of Art with the project "Recycling Fashion" received the grand prize of Academy of Fashion "Golden Needle 2010" - a unique sculpture by the famous jeweler Angelo Krassin.
