Following a six-year "pause", here is the first look on Tom Ford’s comeback to womenswear collection photographed by Steven Meisel for the December 2010 issue of Vogue US starring models Carolyn Murphy, Anja Rubik, Joan Smalls, Stella Tennant, Amber Valletta, Karen Elson and Edita Vilkeviciute.
“I want this to be somewhere a woman knows she can go when she wants a great jacket—not a fake expensive jacket, something that has intrinsic value," says Ford of the collection.

The fashion designer from Bosnia and Herzegovina Lidija Kolovrat presented with great success her collection on the third day of Mercado da Ribeira Fashion Week in Lisbon.

Sheer fabrics and retro-futuristic silhouettes at Paris fashion week
Young Portuguese designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista, who was recently tapped by French sportswear giant Lacoste, featured retro-futuristic silhouettes in his collection, with second-skin leotards with lozenge-shaped cutouts and sheath dresses with scythe-shaped appliqués.
The designer provided plenty to mull over by tempering his conceptual leanings to focus on clean separates with a sporty bent.
UK designer Stella McCartney to launch her first kids' clothing line
British fashion designer Stella McCartney has announced she is launching her own line of children's wear this fall.
Stella McCartney Kids will launch in early November and will adhere "to the designer's signature modern aesthetic and ethical values," a statement said.
"I wanted to create a desirable, fun, wearable kids collection that was affordable. ...

DKNY’s Spring 2011 show at New York Fashion Week delivered colorful, fresh Spring looks. The collection offers sleek silhouettes, accessorized with colorful scarves, English-style floral prints and lots of cascading ruffles.

Big Christmas fashion show of fashion students in New Bulgarian university
On 16 December students in fashion in New Bulgarian university showed their creations. The fashion show is a result from the work of students and teachers who prepared the models in the course of several months for this big event. The artistic fantasy and inspiration of the young people, their non-standard ideas were realized very successfully. The fashion show presented the style and methods of education in fashion in the university. The students designed and produced the clothes on their own.
The fashion show was separated in two themes - Winter kaleidoscope and Clothes & armor.

Bulgarian pop-folk singer Galena provokes again with interesting and original visions. She recently made a photo session for the November issue of "Kosa i krasota" magazine (Hair and Beauty).

The new collection of the fashion company Akropol will seize every woman's attention and will boost her mood with the many

Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina is launching a shoe range.
Dina will collaborate with Long Island-based company I Love My Shoes for

I Love My Shoes founder and president, Robert Yeganeh, said: "She
will do a radio and TV commercial and she will sit in on the casting call to
find two or three hot girls we need for the commercial.
"Although she won't be the designer of the line, she'll definitely
have a major influence in which direction it will go."
Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 10 collection was inspired by "hippie punks"
Creative director Marc Jacobs showed the line at Paris Fashion Week on
07.10.09, and revealed his theme was the New Age clothes popular in the 80s
and 90s.
He said: "Street clothes, embracing the hippie-cyber,
tribal-punk world."
Models wore huge, brightly-coloured Afro wigs and pranced down the catwalk
to music by British girl band The Saturdays.
Happy hues dominated at London Fashion Week
Orange, lemon, lime green, cerulean, fuchsia and other happy hues made the runways come alive at London's Fashion Week.
"Right now, everyone's looking for colour, I think they're looking for optimism, more shape, less layering," commented Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour for Reuters.
Paul Smith presented clothes in the colours of the rainbow, inspired by Congo, Nicole Farhi created cocktail dresses in orange and green, and one in neon yellow with a deep neckline.

The 'Umbrella' singer has taken part in a raunchy photoshoot with famed
fashion photographer Steven Klein for the magazine's annual couture supplement.
The Grace Jones-inspired cover of the special publication sees the star
clad in a structural feathered Valentino gown and patent knee-high boots, throwing
a bucket of water at the camera.
Inside, the daring pictures see the 'S.O.S.' star clad in just skimpy
pants, with glitter covering her chest.
Bulgarian design assaults Paris
Bulgarian fashion brand Doychinoff will take part in Paris' fashion week this
year for the first time.
“Co-evolution occurs when two or more biological species influence each other
to their evolution.” This sentence is on the top of the new catalog cover
of designer Maria Doychinova, which presents her last collection, named Symbion.
“It is symbiosis between arts and fashion. We worked with two artists Iskren
Iliev and Iliana Nagel. We make one closed circle , in which on one side their
paintings were inspiration for me, and at the other side created huge paintings
2x2 metres, connected with my collection”,
explains Doychinova.
Dynamic colourful fairy-tale
As we promised in the previous article of bgfashion.net we will present you the collections of the designers and fashion houses who took part in the Day of Bulgarian fashion in Rome. The final evening, dedicated to Bulgarian fashion design was organized by Mrs. Jana Yakovleva, chairwoman of the Bulgarian-Italian cultural association Phoenix and Prof. Lubomir Stoykov – chairman of the Academy for fashion.
Stella McCartney finds making non-leather shoes thrilling
The fashion designer - who is a strict vegetarian and refuses to use animal
hides in her collections - admits making attractive, non-leather shoes can
be hard, but it determined to make her designs as desirable as possible.
She said: "It is 70 per cent more expensive for us
to make non-leather shoes. Thank God we have a profitable business and can
afford to do it. But ultimately, I'm a fashion designer and I see it as my
job to create a desirable pair of boots, whether they are made from recycled
cotton or a cardboard box. I find the technical challenge thrilling."
