Dubrovnik Fashion Week International 2010
On 27th and 28th 2010 of August Dubrovnik Fashion Week International presented a series of fashion shows that took place on the open air catwalk set against a backdrop of perfectly preserved Renaissance and Baroque buildings, churches and palaces, within the historic walls of the Dubrovnik Old Town.
Major Croatian designers and fashion houses presented their collections including Hippy Garden, Juraj Zigman, Art Go'den, Mara Miloglav, Zjena Glamocanin, SMart and Marina Design.
H&M and Zara to launch online shopping in Europe
H&M and Zara are launching newer websites in September with real e-commerce ventures.
Zara has announced that it will unveil its new online store on September 2 in UK, France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
From 2011, it will be expanded to the United States, Japan and South Korea.
Zara already prepare the ground with its Facebook page, launched last year with 4.4 million fans to this day.

Underwater fashion show in Seoul
Seoul hosted the world’s first underwater fashion show on Sunday, showcasing traditional Korean dresses.
During the show, mermaid-like models presented vibrantly colored traditional “hanbok” dresses, created by fashion designer Park Sul-Nyeo. The models posed in a water tank for the shoot without any snorkels or oxygen masks.
Vivienne Westwood shoes to go on display in London
A collection of nearly 200 shoes from the Vivienne Westwood archive are to be showcased at Selfridges in London.
The luxury department store is hosting the world’s first shoe exhibition of the iconic designer.
The collection, called Vivienne Westwood Shoes: An Exhibition 1973-2010, will display the designer’s signature styles throughout her incredible presence in fashion over the last four decades.
Miss Universe 2010 is from Mexico
Eighty three models took part in the contest for the prestigious crown and the title Miss Universe 2010, among which 21 from Latin America. On Thursday were selected 15 semi finalists. Unfortunately, there was no Bulgarian participant in the contest this time.
The Mexican Jimena Navarrete was selected to become Miss Universe 2010.
Navarrete surprised everyone, as the expectations were that the crown will go to the representative of Ireland, Venezuela or USA.
Bono’s clothing company loses $9 million
The clothing company of U2 frontman Bono and his wife Ali Hewson was rancked up $9 million in loses last year.
The singer established the clothing company Edun in 2005 to stimulate business in Africa but accounts filed for the firm show it plunged into the red last year.
The debts were 90 per cent bigger in the last twelve months than they were in 2008, according to official documents obtained by British newspaper The Sun.
Miss Universe 2010 – Live from Las Vegas
The Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas is the venue for this year’s Miss Universe competition, which will be held today ad 18:00 local time.
83 contestants will show their best side during the spectacular show tonight. The contest was founded in 1952 by California clothing company and since then the title Miss Universe has been awarded 19 times to representatives of Latin America.

New York has reclaimed the title of the world's top fashion capital from Milan but the annual poll suggested the top five fashion cities are seeing competition from Asia and Australia.
New York had reigned as top fashion city for 5 years until Milan took the lead last year in the list compiled by the Global Language Monitor, a U.S. based non-profit group that tracks the frequency of words and phrases in the media, on the Internet and throughout the blogosphere.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Campaign Spring/Summer 2011
Many celebrated guests of Mercedes-Benz as Milla Jovovich, Philip Treacy, Miles Aldridge, Boris Becker, Vitali Klitschko and Matthias Schweighofer made the trip to the capital to take part in the shows at the Bebelplatz and the side events of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.
Mexican fashion brand Jesus Ibarra + Bertholdo (JI+B)’s presentation on Friday evening garnered also quite a lot of attention. Mercedes-Benz brought the successful duo in from Mexico in the capital, their first international performance.
Bruce Willis launched his own fragrance
Bruce Willis has launched his signature fragrance this week, named simply: Bruce Willis. He created the signature collection in partnership with the German beauty company – LR Health & Beauty Products, who defined the perfume as a heavy scent, masculine and unusual.
The tagline of “Bruce Willis” will be “Smart guys live forever”.
The collection includes hair and body wash, deodorant, aftershave balm and eau de parfum. The scent features hints of grapefruit, pepper and vetiver.

The event highlight of the first day was the third edition of the joint VOGUE and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Night, which was attended by the who's who of the fashion industry as well as many celebrities. Boris, Lilly and Noah Becker was seen enjoying the evening as were Hannah Herzsprung, Hannelore Elsner, Natalia Wörner, Jana Pallaske, Luca Gadjus, Jette Joop, Michael Michalsky, Dorothee Schumacher or Viktoria Strehle, Nicolas Berggruen, Nikolaus Jagdfeld and Berlin’s mayor Klaus Wowereit.
The freshest model of summer 2010 was chosen in a contest
The beauty contest was held in Sheraton Hotel Balkan, to nominate the freshest model of summer 2010. Fashion editors, celebrities, and guests of Viva Casino! chose 17 years old Alexandra Krasteva as the winner.
16 candidates from across the country competed for the title of Miss Summer Viva 2010. They went through three rounds and showed the latest trends of Italian fashion brands Zu Elements and Phard. The French Pataugas shoes completed the styling of the models.

Emilio Pucci fashion house launched the new perfume for women, Miss Pucci, which is both sensual and energizing. Miss Pucci follows 2007’s Pucci Vivara and the pottle shares that fragrance’s bubble motif.
The scent notes include citrus, rose, orange blossom, jasmine, cedar, iris and white musk.

British model Naomi Campbell proved that she takes her job seriously after she posed with a fur vest on a hot NYC afternoon to model for Dennis Basso’s fall/winter 2010 campaign.
In addition to the fur vest she was wearing a one piece, green swimsuit, high heels and jewelry. The model put her long legs on show in front of a gas pump and also paraded a series of fur coats.
Jean Paul Gaultier created a special luxury collection of lingerie for La Perla
The world famous French designer Jean Paul Gaultier, who invented the cone bra for Madonna, has designed a high-end lingerie range for La Perla, scheduled to release in November at select La Perla and Gaultier boutiques, and select department stores.
The collection consist of two limited edition pieces for the Italian brand.

Fashion evenings 2010 began with elegance and refinement
On 11 June 2010 was held the first evening of the fashion show Fashion evenings 2010 in Grand Hotel Varna, St. Konstantin and Elena. The spectacular event is held for 9th year. Elegant, boutique, formal dresses were presented by famous Bulgarian brands Coralia, with designer Veneta Vassileva, whose collection is dedicated to 20 years of creative work, Azalia boutique, whose collection is dedicated to their 10 year anniversary and Romantika Fashion, with designer Sofia Borisova, with collection for 17 years of its activity.
