Burberry show closed London Fashion Week
As part of London Fashion Week's 25th anniversary, British luxury brand
Burberry proudly celebrated by closing the event on Tuesday 22nd September,
moving its Spring - Summer 2010 Burberry Prorsum womenswear show from Milan.
British actress Emma Watson, model Agyness Dean and TV presenter Alexa
Chung were among the stars attending the only red carpet event of London Fashion
Week. A-listers Liv Tyler, Mary Kate Olsen and Orlando Bloom, as well as Maggie
Cheung, Freida Pinto and Dev Patel also made an appearance. The Burberry show
- its first major show outside of Milan - is also the largest of the Week and
features the longest catwalk and front row.
Happy hues dominated at London Fashion Week
Orange, lemon, lime green, cerulean, fuchsia and other happy hues made the runways come alive at London's Fashion Week.
"Right now, everyone's looking for colour, I think they're looking for optimism, more shape, less layering," commented Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour for Reuters.
Paul Smith presented clothes in the colours of the rainbow, inspired by Congo, Nicole Farhi created cocktail dresses in orange and green, and one in neon yellow with a deep neckline.

The German supermodel can't understand why some people decide to go under the knife as she would be worried about the impact it might have on her health.
She said: "I would never have plastic surgery, as I'd be worried about the long-term effects. Ageing is part of life and I think everyone must accept that looks will change."

Cartier opened an exhibition in China
In the Palace Museum in Beijing, China was opened the exhibition “Cartier Treasures: King of Jewellers, Jewellers to Kings”.

The creative pieces worn by the star model were photographed by the Italian fashion photographer Giovanni Gastel.
At the shooting Jourdan Dunn and Giovanni Gastel slipped into the different creative ideas of each individual design to emphasize this year’s design motto “icons”. “For a perfect picture, I just need poetry and beauty. All these designs gave me both. The creative burst of the young talents gave me a lot of inspiration”, said Giovanni Gastel about the shooting.
PRADA expands Ambree fragrance series with a new perfume
This fall, Prada will add a new feminine amber fragrance to its library of ambery scents which started with Prada in 2004. L'Eau Ambrée is the new one to appear in September 2009. It was composed by Daniela Andrier who has been unofficially acting as a kind of in-house nose for the brand. L'Eau Ambrée is based on a main vertical accord of lemon, wild rose and amber.
The top note rests on Sicilian lemon, the heart is based on May rose and amber, and the base features notes of patchouli, vanille, opoponax.
"Parisienne" - the newest feminine fragrance by Yves Saint Laurent
The newest feminine fragrance by Yves Saint Laurent is set to be launched in October. The perfume, romantically named Parisienne, will be fronted by top model Kate Moss.
This is a modern young floral fragrance for women less heady, with official notes of Damask rose, violet, peony, cranberry, patchouli, vetiver, musk and sandalwood.
Parisienne was developed by perfumers Sophia Grojsman.

American football star Tom Brady, who married the Brazilian beauty in February,
doesn't feel comfortable posing for photo shoots and hopes Gisele will boost
his confidence in front of the camera.

British women wear mini-skirts up until the age of 40, according to a research made by Debenhams department store. Just 20 years ago only few women would dare to wear a mini-skirt after the age of 33, the store said.
"It shows that women now have an increasing confidence in their bodies and are happy to dress accordingly," it added in a statement."If this trend continues, there's no doubt that, within the next decade, women in their mid 40s and early 50s will rightly regard a mini-skirt as an essential part of their everyday wardrobe."

Bulgarian design assaults Paris
Bulgarian fashion brand Doychinoff will take part in Paris' fashion week this
year for the first time.
“Co-evolution occurs when two or more biological species influence each other
to their evolution.” This sentence is on the top of the new catalog cover
of designer Maria Doychinova, which presents her last collection, named Symbion.
“It is symbiosis between arts and fashion. We worked with two artists Iskren
Iliev and Iliana Nagel. We make one closed circle , in which on one side their
paintings were inspiration for me, and at the other side created huge paintings
2x2 metres, connected with my collection”,
explains Doychinova.

The famous fawn Bambi is the main character in the new advertising campaign of Stella McCartney for her collection autumn-winter 2009-2010. “I love this cartoon character and the entire crew came to the decision that we can have fun. The clothes in the campaign are looking quite fierce, and we wanted to contrast them with the innocence of Bambi."
This is not the first time that a world fashion designer is inspired by a cartoon character. Mickey Mouse inspired US designer Jeremy Scott's autumn-winter 2009 collection.

Stella McCartney finds making non-leather shoes thrilling
The fashion designer - who is a strict vegetarian and refuses to use animal
hides in her collections - admits making attractive, non-leather shoes can
be hard, but it determined to make her designs as desirable as possible.

Further details of the change - said to have been made by "mutual
agreement" - are yet to be released, and the person who will take over from Esteban has
