Irida fashion house handed its annual awards
Traditionally before Christmas holidays Irida fashion house handed its annual awards for journalists - for media partnership, contribution in the field of fashion and professional reporting of fashion events during the last year.
The event held on December 22, 2004 in Irida Gallery in the presence of guests and journalists. In Press Category the award went to Maria Netsova – First Deputy Editor in Chief of Vsichko Za Zhenata weekly paper – for reporting events organized by Irida fashion house and the Bulgarian-Russian Fashion Week in Moscow.

The new fashion trends in neckties presented on a fashon show in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On 9 November 2004 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs fashion house Victoria Unique with chief designer Rositsa Parashkevanova presented its latest collection luxurious mens' neckties for the season autumn-winter 2004-2005.
The fashion show attended deputies, ministers and businessmen. Victoria Unique presented the latest fashion trends in neckties. The stripes in the neckties are very fashionable all over Europe. In every-day wear the dark colours prevail. The different shades of black, grey, blue and dark red are freshened with dark pink, lilac or orange. Those are the hottest combinations. The fabrics used are natural silk and polyester.
Polia Milanova created the wedding dress for Fashion.bg
With a specially designed bridal dress by designer Polia Milanova married Silvia Todorova, the creator and manager of the Bulgarian fashion portal www.fashion.bg & www.fashion.net.
The dress is of two parts - corset made of french lace cordon with Swarovski stones, garnished with roses of crystal organza, and the bottom part is voluminous, type "princess" made of american mat satin and italian crystal organza, asymatrically stitched and decorated with roses.
Mrs. Globe 2004 is Bulgarian
Rumiana Marinova won the award Mrs. Globe 2004 in _alm Springs.
The 28-year old Bulgarian earned the approval of the jury with her appeal for freedom of Bulgarian medics in Lybia. She is a dentist and has a 3-year old daughter.
Rumiana Marinova will receive $1,000,000 most of which will be given for charity.

Lubomir Stoykov presented his new book at his 50-th anniversary
On May 11th 2004 in House 2 of Boyana Residence was held the charity premiere of Lubomir Stoykov’s new book “World Fashion. Part II: USA”. It was under the patronage of Mrs. Kathy Pardew – wife of US ambassador James Pardew. Mrs. Pardew wrote the introduction of the book and specially attended the event and greeted Mr. Stoykov.
The Bulgarian president Mr. Georgi Parvanov send a special greeting letter to the jubilarian: “In all your initiatives you are demonstrating a notable working capacity, creative prolificacy and high professionalism, which deservedly makes you real sculpture and herald of refined criteria. Your nearly 30 years creative work is no doubt an excellent basis for spiritual and aesthetic upbringing, that we all need so much today”. Exclusively was the appearance of the Bulgarian variety prima Lili Ivanova. At the supreme moment she sang “Happy birthday to you” to Mr. Stoykov.
Juliana Doncheva is the new muse of Matis
On May 19, 2004 was officially opened the representative boutique for French professional cosmetics MATIS – MATIS Beauty Center. Alfa International with executive director Hristo Petkov is the official representative of the high cosmetics line in Bulgaria. He together with the charming deputy Juliana Doncheva, who is also a muse of MATIS for Bulgaria, cut the band. It was also Juliana Doncheva’ initiative every month by special humanitarian program to be allocated special charity funds. On May 24, 2004 the first donation was made – a video-camera for the school in Madara Village, so the children would be able to impress the very joyful moments of the school everyday life.
Virginia Zdravkova and Agressia won "Golden needle 2003"
On great interest and very splendid and stylish passed by the official ceremony of 10th anniversary Bulgarian Fashion Academy Awards Zlatna Igla 2003 /Golden Needle 2003/. The gala-evening for voting and handing the most prestigious fashion awards in Bulgaria was on March 13th, 2004 in Inter Expo Center. The Fashion Academy /launched in 1993 in Paris by Donka Ganeva and Lubomir Stoykov/ proof that the most impartial assessment of the fashion design achievements belongs to the Fourth power - of the fashion journalists.
And the winners are: Designer of the year and winner of Zlatna igla 2003 for personal contribution to the Bulgarian fashion design became Virginia Zdravkova /Virginia atelier/, Fashion house of the year – Agressia /manager Maja Asenova/, Fashion photographer – Valentin Mechanov and winner of the award for total contribution to the Bulgarian design - Bulgarian Fashion Forum in the face of its chairman Ivan Chalakov.
Style and comfort in Leticia's collections
On the eve of the 8 March the young designer from Rousse Parvoleta
Ivanova - Leticia gathered select audience in fashion gallery Charlino in
Rousse in order to present her newest collections "Sport and
entertainment".
Made by order of an Italian-Greek consortium especially for the Olympic
games in Greece, the clothes in sport-elegant style are variegated in all
colours of the rainbow. They are produced from high quality Italian
made jersey and effectively complemented by the designer with jeans
elements and appliques. Blouses are worn with mini skirts, which are
very hot for the season.
Comfort and chic in Elena Moskvichovas collection
In a few days will be displayed a new collection for
spring-summer 2004 by the famous fashion house
“A-Style” with designer Elena Moskvichova. That will
happen in the prestigious Ryla Hotel in Sofia on March
4th in front of special audience. The designer /she was
nominated for “Zlatna Igla 2002” /Golden Needle 2002/
by the Fashion Academy/, will show over 50 pieces
separated and structured in three different themes.
The first one is devoted to every-day-life comfort and is
made by knitted fabrics that designer selected for the
first time and combined with lace and mesh. The variety
of combinations - skirts and blouses or daily suits with
jackets, in that case sleeveless, is great.
The second theme contains two-parts business suits
diversified by materials, variety of bright colors and the
button up technics. Typical for her previous collection
was edging but for spring-summer collection the
designer put a special accent on lace and play with little
details as lapels, sleeves etc. You can notice eastern
motives in some of the suits.
Bulgarian designer next to Giorgio Armani
The Bulgarian fashion stand was right next to those of Giorgio Armani on
the CPD woman-man International apparel exhibition in Dusseldorf
/01-03.02/.
Bulgarian designer Virginia Zdravkova for Virginia atelier
displayed thirty gowns and wedding dresses - a combination of her last
collections “Fata Morgana” and “Derianur”. Layered textures and great
variety of colors /champagne, pink with gold, blue with silver and gold,
smoked khaki, cacao and leady grey/ made the effect very original.

COLLECTION
The Mirror is an autumn – winter – spring
collection of the prize-winner of “Golden Pin
2002” and “Roshavata Garga” designer -
Albena Alexandrova.
A real mix of designs and materials – wool,
silk, leather and satin with sparkling
ornamental studs, beads and crystals on
dresses. Colors made sense of a high spirit and brought beautiful desires.
Jana Jekova robbed by her colleague?
On 21 October 2003 in the Fashion House of
the well-known Bulgarian designer Jana
Jekova was carried out a press conference in
connection with her ascertainment that a
design of her has won an award for higher
fashion in Vienna under somebody else’s
authorship.
The representatives of the mass media were
acquainted with abundant photo and factual
material that proved unequivocally that the
awarded dress is a part of the designer’s autumn-winter 2000/2001 collection
(i.e., created before 3 years).

The shop SchuhK!ds offers a special selection of high quality shoes for children. SchuhK!ds gathered the best from the european market for baby's and children's shoes in TZUM, on the 3rd floor.
The shop was opened on the 4th September with a gaily coloured show for the kids that like to have fun and with special presents for their parents.
Miss Bulgaria Universe hours before the final show
More than two weeks Elena Tihomirova, "Miss Bulgaria Universe 2003" is a part of the great experience called "Miss Universe". The final show of the competition is on the 3rd June and will be broadcasted live on NBC. In the prestigeous contest this year will take part 72 representatives from different countries.
Two of the preliminary rounds have passed - National costume and night dress. Elena was also interviewed by the jury. The dress, which the Bulgarian participant will wear on the 3rd June on the scene of Miss Universe, is designed by Maria Nedkova. The shoes, with which Elena will step on the unlikely sets of moving platforms, are specially made from the same textile as the dress by the Hinso-Rousse company.
Fashion and painting at the French Cultural Institute
The celebrated designer and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Maya Bogdanova presents fashion in paintings. The forthcoming exhibition “Fashion and Painting” at the French Cultural Institute, due to take place from the 22nd of April to the 5th of May 2003, combines the paintings of Giorgio de Chiriko, Paul Delveau, Frantishek Musica with Maya’s own works. They are made of waterproof fabric, leatherette, aeroplast and linen, the complex geometric shapes are inspired by the art of origami.
Provocative spring models from Charlino
The young designer Parvoleta Chavdarova (Leticia) presented her collection spring-summer 2003 "Provocative" for fashion house Charlino on an exquisite fashion show in the city of Rousse.
The collection contains 48 models of formal toilets and teenager garments. The youth models are in sport-elegant style and most of them are influenced by the 60s and 70s of the past century. The collection abounds in clothes with broken up silhouette and provocative vision.
The colour palette is in ecru, beige-brown range of colours and the major part of the models are in stylish white, which would be very hot this season. In 2003 the fair shades of pink and blue are also in fashion.
Teresa Rosati fashion show
The fashion show of the Polish designer Teresa Rosati took place in
Warsaw in the Grand Theatre.
Teresa Rosati is a designer of occasional wear and evening wear for VIPs
(especially for wives of ambassadors and diplomats from various
countries who are on diplomatic posts in Poland).
She says: "Elegance is not only conducive to our well being but also it is a
key to viable social and business contacts. It is also prerequisite to
success. I design clothes for modern, active women who wish to feel
elegant and charming throughout the day. In a nutshell, the clothes I
design have three things in common: high quality fabrics, simplicity of the
cut, and attractive additions".

New success for "Nia&Dorado"
The company "Nia&Dorado" returned recently from Russia, where it presented successfully and
with excellent results its new collection spring-summer 2003 at the fashion fair Sankt Peterburgh "Pen
Expo" held from 1st to 6th October 2002.
Last month the well-known Bulgarian fashion house also
successfully presented its collection in a review in the Forum Bulgarian
fashion - Plovdiv during the Plovdiv fair.
On 29.10.2002 the company will participate in Pret-a-porte
2002/2003 autumn-winter in Plovdiv.

Fresh puff in Forum Bulgarian Fashion
Good symptoms of quality change were noticed on the last edition of Forum Bulgarian Fashion with an honorable chairman Ivan Chalakov and face Emilia Kushvalieva. At the end of March the International exhibition center was again a host of the National fashion review. The nominations for the Golden Needles are announced
On its session on Friday the Academy of fashion voted the nominations for the "Golden needle" award for the year 2001. The award for overall contribution to Bulgarian fashion and the "Golden needle" in this category is adjudged to the famous Bulgarian designer Daria Manchenko. She has graduated the Higher school of fashion stylistics, haute couture fashion and costume "Arman Gojel" in Paris and more than a quarter of a century she works in the field of fashion design.
MARINO COSTA: Unique is in fashion
The
trade-mark MARINO COSTA was created eight years ago in order to
be wide spread on the Balkan and Russian market. The name is particularly
invented to speak a lot about its origin and to be easy to pronounce
and remember.
The models, which are offered on the Bulgarian market can really
pretend to be unique for two reasons: First, small quantities of
them are produced, second, which is probably most important - the
project after which they are manufactured (the project includes
the types of leather and the colours for the upper part, the lining,
the types of the soles, respectively sole-leather and rubber, i.e.
a description of every element of the shoe).
Photographers' Exhibition has the effect of painting
The skillful, professional photography has the same effect as the works of painting and the plastic art. This maxim was proved once again on the joint exhibition "Photographers and ..." of Angle Pentchev (President of the Association of advertising photographers) and the well-known fashion photographer Temelko Temelkov.
Third annual models casting "Visages models 2001"
The third annual models casting "Visages models 2001" took place on 25 November in the National Palace of Culture. 72 girls from 29 Bulgarian cities all over the country participated in the casting. They were chosen through regional selections, organised by "Visages models".

Miss Bulgaria 2001 Ivayla Bakalova is the new "Model Of The Universe 2001". She won the prize in the world final of the pageant on 12 November in Istanbul. More than 50 Countries competed for the title of Model Of The Universe 2001.

International recognition for "Victoria Unikat"
Fashion house "Viktoria Unikat", producer of men's neckties, with designer Rositsa Parashkevova, was awarded with an authoritative international prize. The company from Varna is honoured with the International Trade Prestige award 2001. The decision was taken by the votes of 15 000 members of the Trade Leaders club from 122 countries. The award would be received personally by the owners of "Victoria Unikat" in Madrid during the second half of December this year.

Unprecedented parliamentary interest in fashion design attracted many members of the Bulgarian Parliament to hall 3 in the National Palace of Culture, where Evgenia Jivkova presented her collection for the season autumn-winter 2001-2002. The seats on the first rows were taken by Vessela Draganova and Liubka Kachakova, Emilia Maslarova and Ginio Ganev, Emel Etem and Kamen Vlahov. The Russian Ambassador Vladimir Titov with his wife also attended the show, wich marked the beginning of the fashion season in Sofia.

The 19-year old Ivayla Bakalova from the city of Varna became "Miss
Bulgaria" for this year and she will represent Bulgaria in
the "Miss Universe" concurs in Puerto Rico.< br />
The
jury comprised the president of the Bulgarian Football Union Ivan
Slavkov, the sculptor Vejdi Rashidov, fashion photographers, editors,
producers. They chose Ivayla Bakalova because of her womanhood and
her measures 92–63–88 cm.
Charlino opened the first fashion gallery in northeast Bulgaria
On 28 February 2001 Charlino
opened the first fashion gallery in northeast Bulgaria. Located
in Rousse in its own modern building, the Fashion Palace Charlino,
the company intends the gallery to
attract foreign and domestic interest in the local fashion industry.
To celebrate the occasion, Charlino
presented a fashion show featuring the newest collection by
the young designer Parvoleta Ivanova. For the show Parvoleta
created 16 styles based on leather.
