Fashion evenings 2010

On 11 and 12 June 2010 in Grand hotel Varna, St. Konstantin and Elena will be held the ninth edition of one of the biggest fashion events in Bulgaria – "Fashion evenings", which is presenting collections of famous Bulgarian designers and fashion houses.

Wide variety of elegant outfits, jewelry and accessories will be presented during the fashion shows – ladies formal and wedding dresses, casual wear, underwear and swimwear, hosiery, accessories and children’s clothing.

Lviv Fashion Week 2010

Lviv Fashion Week is one of the leading international designer showcases in Eastern Europe. It offers a high-quality ground for fashionable defiles and runway shows. Format of Lviv Fashion Week is based on prêt-à-porter and prêt-à-porter de luxe collections. Designers present seasonable collections in multiple daily runway shows and exhibition showrooms. Fashion shows are accompanied by art, photo and jewellery exhibitions. More than 3500 people visit Lviv Fashion Week during each day.

Jean Paul Gaultier with a fashion show in Moscow's Kazansky train station

French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier presented his first haute couture collection in Russia at a Moscow's Kazansky train station.

At the show attended many Russian celebrities – actors, pop stars, as well as fashion designers. Gaultier opened his first boutique in the centre of Moscow in 2005. He was surprised by the pace of change the city had seen since then.

Sports garments were shown in Ruse

During the exhibition "Weekend Tourism", which takes place from 13 to 15 May in the City Theatre of Ruse, was held a fashion show of clothes and shoes for tourism and leisure.

In the fashion show participated models from Elit-D, model agency of Diana Poptoneva, who presented garments of Kappa, Puma, Hi-TEC and other fashion brands.

Roma fashion presented The World is Colorful

Roma fashion organized for the second time a unique dance performance and fashion-show named "The World is Colorful".

At the fashion show were presented two collections – traditional gypsy garments and a modern interpretation of the Gypsy style.

The Dominican Republic Fashion Week

From 28 April until 2 May 2010 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic takes place the Dominican Republic Fashion Week.

The opening fashion show was of the Spanish brand Custo Barcelona with designer Custo Dalmau.

Fashion Portal Ruse 2010 fascinated hundreds of people

During the International Fashion Forum - Ruse 2010 took place the second fashion edition of "Fashion Portal - Ruse 2010". The scene was built among the fountains in front of Ruse Municipality, which created an unique atmosphere.

Their collections presented Arda-Ruse, Markam Fashion, Rollman, Deni Deor, Vayana, Bordo, Lenars-Maria Fashion salon and Radina-Maria. Their models also presented pupils from Vocational High School of Clothing and Design - Ruse.

Fashion Portal - Ruse 2010

On April 24th, 2010 at 8 p.m. on a stage, built on the fountains in front of Ruse Municipality will be held a fashion show of Bulgarian fashion brands "FASHION PORTAL - RUSE 2010". For the guests will be provided more than 600 seats.

After the fashion shows a cocktail will be held at the the city theater building.

In the fashion show their collections will present the brands Arda, Bordo, Deni Deor, Radina Maria, BTB and others.

Spring fashion show in Varna

Under the motto "For some, fashion is a religion", on March 26 VIP Fashion Group Agency and Mall Varna hosted a spectacular spring fashion show in the chic atmosphere of the most modern entertainment center in Varna – Playground in Mall Varna. The host of the show was the actor Simeon Lyutakov.

Castilla and Leon Fashion Week began

On 9 March 2010 began the twelfth edition of the Fashion Week in Castilla and Leon, which is held in the city of Burgos, Spain. Traditionally it will last three days (from 9th to March 11th) and more than 30 designers and fashion houses will present their collections for autumn-winter 2010/2011.

The first day began with presentations of Ladybug collection (Spanish lable for women's fashion), Estilo By Imelda (bags and accessories), Pamela (children's clothes), the young designer Marta Valdespino and others.

The best of Spanish Fashion at Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week

Fashion and creation are, once again, the main themes of a new edition of CIBELES MADRID FASHION, the great platform for the promotion and dissemination of design in Spain, organised by IFEMA, which is celebrating its fifty-first edition from 18 to 23 February at Feria de Madrid.

On this occasion, the main showcase for Spanish creation involves 51 designers who, with their diverse stylistic proposals, will evidence the creative heterogeneousness of fashion in our country. Lacoste - mood and color in New York

Most recognized by the "green crocodile" fashion brand, Lacoste once again charmed the audience at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York with its colorful and bright collection.

The famous brand reinforced its prestige of the master of fashion fabrics and patterns during the expected with great interest show.

The colorful accessories of the fashion guru drew the attention of the audience behind the scenes of the show before its inception. Their radiant mood spread quickly to the podium and the models.

Temperatures Rise at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York

Despite snowy conditions for the start of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this February 11-18, 2010, the Bryant Park tents are red hot with the New York debut of the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and E-Class Cabriolet.

Until now their collections presented Zac Posen, Max Azria, Gwen Stefani, Charlotte Ronson, David LaChapelle, Christian Siriano, Michael Angel, La Perla etc.

At Mercedes-Benz fashion week in New York was also presented a collection show called Fashion For Relief Haiti NYC 2010. Among the models on the catwalk were Kelly Osbourne, daughter of singer Ozzy Osbourne, Agyness Deyn and the super model Noami Campbell.

Brides and rebellions at the fashion podium in Rome

A mixture of frivolously dressed girls like rebellions and elegant brides were seen by the audience during the AltaRoma fashion week in Rome, Italy.

The designer Abed Mahfouz from Lebanon presented romantic models for brides in white and formal dresses in turquoise nuances.

The Italian couturier Fausto Sarli also presented bridal gowns. He amazed the audience with the clean line and unusual accents in the dresses for the most special day in the life of every young woman.

United Nations EcoChic Geneva Fashion Show

On January 21 in Geneva, Switzerland was held the EcoChic Geneva fashion show at the European headquarters of the United Nations. Julia Jurevich showcased the creation from the Bulgarian designer Evgeni Petkov.

Key fashion and government figures met in Geneva for a two day seminar during this international year of biodiversity to support the world's biodiversity and sustainable fashion.

Revealing clothes at Rio Fashion Week

Several famous designers showed their newest collections during the Rio Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2010 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

With original and stylish fashion show the leading Varna agency VIP Fashion Group sent they year 2009. The event was held in Grand hotel Varna and was named "Festival of fashion and beauty Varna". Bulgaria native Marina Nikolaeva Popska presented her Spring 2010 Collection at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week

Marina was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her love of art and design began at an early age and was encouraged by her mother who was a professor of textile and fashion design.

Before entering the Master Degree program at Academy of Art University, Marina studied textile design at the School of Applied Arts and received a BFA and MFA degree from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria.

For this collection, she was inspired by nature, humanity and the ‘chaos’ of color and texture. Marina’s knitwear is a combination of various knitting techniques and yarn arrangements resulting in rich textures and the illusion of depth in her garments.

Impressive fashion show of Venice costumes and masks in the Archaeological museum

Venice ... The city of love, romance and carnival. With a lot of imagination and after several months' work on Friday the Venice spirit was brought in the Archaeological museum in Sofia by the show "The secret of masks", in which 20 Bulgarian stars passed in couples dressed in Venice costumes and extravagant masks.

The main organizer of the show was Katalina Jeliazkova, manager of the company "Party house".

Oi Fashion Rocks arrived in Brazil

Full of originality, Oi Fashion Rocks arrived in Brazil and brought international and national fashion and music shows in an unheard of arena in Jockey Club of Rio de Janeiro.

The Brazilian edition was the first one held in Latin America and the only one promoted in 2009. Oi sponsored the event, which besides gathering the best in music and fashion is ruled by its social concern.

In Brazil, Oi Fashion Rocks counted on famous brands dictating trends such as Marc Jacobs, Versace, Givenchy and Calvin Klein and several attractions of the national and international music scene, among them Mariah Carey and Puff Daddy.

Castilla y Leon Fashion Week began

ROMANTIKA FASHION center was opened officially

op designer Sofia Borisova opened officially ROMANTIKA FASHION center.

It includes two parts. First of them is the VIP showroom. There you can find luxury clothes of the world famous designer Eddy K and boutique toilets of Romantika fashion house.
The second part of new fashion center will offer bridal collections of Alyce Design and Madeline Gardner.

Giorgio Armani looked to the future

Giorgio Armani looked to the future and explored the world of ‘plastic fantastic’ in his younger, Emporio Armani collection at Milan Fashion Week.

Swimsuits and bikinis were bedecked with Plexiglass brooches and necklaces as bright as molten lava. Sandals featured crimson Perspex heels and ankle-straps. Short, party dresses in Vesuvian shades of bright orange and fuschia, were cinched with shiny, shocking-pink, patent-leather belts.

The colours exploded like fireworks on the graphic PVC catwalk, sending a clear signal that Armani is once again working at full creative power after battling with hepatitis over the summer.

Bright colours dominated in the first day of Milan fashion week

The collections shown during the first day of Milan fashion week used colorful pink, yellow, blue and green probably in an effort to fight the current grim economic mood. The same trend was noticed also at Madrid and London fashion weeks.

Minimalistic silhouettes by Prada, Mediterranean chic from Armani, original jeans by Dolce & Gabbana, urban rock by Just Cavalli - they all were in bright colours.

An extravagant winter by Jeni style

Jeni style fashion house with designer Evgenia Jivkova will present its newest collection autumn-winter 2009/2010 called Extravagant winter on September 16, 2009 at Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture. The 14 years old daughter of Mrs. Jivkova – Andrea Stefanova will take part in the fashion show.

Evgenia Jivkova says: The name of my newest collection is Extravagant winter. Through my clothes women will be confident and sexy without showing off these qualities. At the same time women wearing Jeni style will demonstrate their new and different appearance and will look braver and independent.

New success for Jullia Kontogruni

The Bulgarian brand Jullia Kontogruni was invited to participate for a second year in Bucharest fashion week with main media partner Fashion TV. During the fashion show miss Romania walked in a wedding outfit of the fashion house. Jullia Kontogruni presented their boutique and wedding dresses, with embroideries and hand sewn stones and exquisite stays. The fabrics are from the most luxurious and limited selections of world famous brands, mainly silk, French and Italian laces, tulle, organza and satin.

Giorgio Armani and Dolce&Gabbana open Milan menswear

Milan menswear for the Spring-Summer 2010 got off to a classy start Saturday, with glitzy glamour at Dolce and Gabbana, and super refinement at Giorgio Armani.

The designing duo kicked off the four days of preview showings with a collection that matched sequined tuxedo jackets with distressed pants, adding a new chapter to the "drunge" (part dandy, part grunge) look they invented a decade ago.

Fashion evenings 2009 - elegance, refinement and beauty

On 13 and 14 June 2009 in Grand hotel Varna, St. Konstantin and Elena thiumphed fashion and beauty. The eight edition of one of the biggest fashion events in Bulgaria - "Fashion evenings" gathered those who appreciate beauty on a fashion show, which presented collections of famous Bulgarian designers and fashion houses, as well as importers of quality garments and accessories.

The fashion show was held with the kind stewardship of Grand hotel Varna and with the support of its general director Mr. Ivan Portnih. Official sponsor were the cigarettes Merilyn Slims. Producer of the event is Ekaterina Toneva, Mrs. Bulgaria World Beauty 2007, the organization and performance is made by Amalia Tincheva. The major media partner was the Bulgarian fashion directory Fashion.bg, which celebrated 10 years since its creation.

Miuccia Prada refuses to take a full walk down the runway after her fashion shows

The Italian designer doesn't want to be like other designers and bask in glory after debuting her collections.

She said: "I hate the cliche of fashion designers since the beginning. And so because I came from another background - and actually being a feminist at those times, not that I've changed so much - I didn't want to do anything that fashion designers were doing. And the first thing I didn't want to do was that."

Miuccia - whose celebrity fans include Tilda Swinton, Victoria Beckham and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen - also revealed she likes her designs to be ironic.

Roma Fashion - beauty and magic of gipsy culture

On 8 May in Sofia was held the fashion show ROMA FASHION. Original gipsy music and poetry accompanied the event.

Inspired by the gipsy aesthetics, designers from Bulgaria and abroad presented their creations, showing the romance of the "gipsy style" in contemporary fashion. The show included models of designers from Bulgaria, Finland, Romania, Argentina, Macedonia etc.

Bridal fashion trends at Cibeles Madrid Novias 2009

For two days in Madrid at more than 20 bridal fashion shows were showcased the latest trends in bridal wear made in Spain.

Internationally-acclaimed Spanish designers like Duyos, Isabel Zapardiez, Jorge Terra and Hannibal Laguna revealed the trends in bridal fashion and underwear for 2010, which are inspired by the vintage style and use sheer fabrics.

Fashion house Organdin presented its prom dresses collection in Petrich

In a 4 star hotel complex in the sunniest city in Bulgaria - Petrich, fashion house Organdin made a fashion show to present its prom dresses collection. Recently the company opened its first boutique in the city. Models from Petrich and Sandanski took part in the fashion defile. Designer of the collection is Tanya Mil, who lives and works in Sandanski. The young Bulgarian folk singer Samantha took part in the show and sang her hit "Fire in Heaven". After the show the designer surprised the guests with another talent - she sang the song "Chicken" of the Serbian singer Ceca Velichkovich.

The new Almanac of Bulgarian Fashion: Cultural and aesthetical fact

On the eve of Christmas – at 16th December 2008 – was organized the charity performance of “Almanac of the Bulgarian fashion 2009” under the patronage of the first lady Mrs. Zorka Parvanova. Author and compiler of the almanac is Prof. Dr. Lubomir Stoykov, president of the Academy for fashion. The event was organized in building 2 of residence “Boyana” and at established during the years tradition will be with charity character. In preliminary auction through bidding were sold off the first three – officially numbered and signed by the author, copies of the book. Daniela Giosheva – manager of non-commercial association “Our beautiful Bulgaria - Prosperity” bought the first, most precious almanac.

Virginia Zdravkova presented her third collection "Lavazza"

With an impressive gala-spectacle in „Kempinski Hotel Zografski”, the three time bearer of the award „Golden needle” of the Academy for fashion Virginia Zdravkova presented her collection „Lavazza”, inspired by the images of the calendar for 2009. The talented designer for third time created collection, inspired by the famous brand coffee.

Some days ago, she even loaded with money her collection of the last year „Lavazza”, as she obtained „Golden needle 2008” of the Academy for fashion – this time for fashion spectacle, inspired by the calendar of the aromatic drink.

Albena Alexandrova presented the town girls for season autumn-winter 2008/2009

The business image is the most actual for the town girls, according to the designer of fashion house „Roshavata garga” Albena Alexandrova. At fashion theatrical spectacle, called “Ah, this .... Jazz!” the designer in original way presented her most actual proposals for season autumn-winter 2008/ 2009. The idea of the title is inspired from „ Ah, this Jazz!”, from the spirit of the 60s in front of the eyes of the modern man of 21 century. Through contest Albena Alexandrova, chief designer of „Roshavata garga”, gave chance to more than 20 designers to work on the autumn-winter collection ‘08/09 of „Roshavata garga and team”. he leading words in the collection are: The City, The Sex, The Business and The Tradition.

Bulgarian presented her collection at Oslo Fashion week

Ivelina Dagsvold was born in Stara Zagora, she is 32 years old. From seven years she lives in Norway. She graduated the Plovdiv university, in Bulgaria she worked as a journalist. She went in Norway to realize her dream to study fashion design. In Oslo she studied Art and design at Oslo university college. She participated in different fashion contests, but her first professional presentation is at Oslo fashion week. After she sent sketches she was approved, from May to 10 August she worked on her collection. The brand name that she launched is "nÅrsk". That means "norvegian". The interesting thing is that the word is written wrong, the correct is "norsk".

On 27 February in the restaurant of hotel "Charlino plaza" in Ruse the young designer Parvoleta Chavdarova - Leticiapresented her newest collection formal and boutique garments "Leticia by Charlino" 2008. The designer offers interesting colour suggestions. More sensual, romatic and colourful than ever will look every woman in Leticia`s garments. The garments in the collection have original details and accents - unusually high waist, richly decorated necklines, decorative ribbons, hand sewn stones. The materials of the dresses are organza, silk, taffeta, satin. The colours are various - green, orange, lilac and red, metal silver glows and the classic black.

The collection was presented by the top models Iren Onteva, Tedi Velinova, Rosica Chernogorova, Nikol Stankulova, Eva Kikerzova, Diana Todorova, Rumi Peeva.

Maria Nedkova showed modern business garments

Fashion house "Anna Maria" with designer Maria Nedkova presented its newest collection autumn-winter 2007-2008 in the Central military club.

The collection comprises of 60 garments, divided in 7 themes. The silhouette of the clothes follows the line of the body. The style is business, however decorated with original details and accents. Shortening the proportions is characteristic of the garments in the collection. The waist is higher - a trend for the season. In the bottom part the silhouette is layered. The trousers are long, type "cigarette" or volume. Most of the jackets are taken in at the waist, some models are with a straight silhouette and with a length to the waist.

Miro and Beloslava perform live at Ariston S fashion show

On the evening of 19 November, Grand Hotel Bulgaria hosted the presentation of Ariston S’s Fall/Winter 2007 collection. The oval salon of the hotel barely seated all guests, who gathered to see the stylish fashion show.

The VIP guests were shown the Fall/Winter collection in the most elegant way with a nice, refined style. It is worth mentioning that this is the first fashion show ever in Bulgaria to include live performances by guest artists. Miro from "KariZma" opened the show with a pre-premiere of his new single "Call On Me". While the top models were presenting the collection, the audience could hear for the first time the remix of "Sometime Before".

Markam conquers Brno

Markam Fashion was the only Bulgarian company among the 620 exhibitors from 24 countries, participating in the International fair Styl in Brno. Markam took part in the jubilee 30th run of the fairs at the end of August, showing the Spring 2008 collection.

The models of the chief designer Nikolay Buzov were rated as “exclusive” not only by the numerous clients, but by the organizers and partners as well.

Fresh summer fashion on the stage of bTV fashion show Mirrors

"Galinel" held a "Gipsy wedding" fashion show on the stage of the Ancient Theatre

On the 31st of May “Galinel” Fashion House held a real “Gipsy wedding” on the stage of the Ancient Theatre. Five of the most wanted Bulgarian women defiled with dresses, inspired by the five-star AVON cosmetics

Five of the most wanted Bulgarian women awarded with the prize "Miss" have presented the unique collection of AvonStyle. The collection was dedicated to the newest five-star Avon cosmetics.

The winners of Miss Bulgaria, Miss Universe and Miss Europe who took part at the fashion show were: Tanya Karabelova, Rositsa Ivanova and Yulia Yurevich. They presented 15 dresses of young Bulgarian designers. The young talented designers were chosen among all the participants in a competition of "AvonStyle Academy". Their unique models were inspired by the moto of the most luxurious Avon cosmetics "The real woman beauty is hidden in her individual style".

Charity fashion show of Markam

On March 15th from 18.00 o’clock, in the conference hall “Sredets” in “Sheraton” hotel, Fashion house “MARKAM” presented its new collection “Autumn-Winter 07/08”.
