Cracow Fashion Awards 2011

Cracow Fashion Awards, a Polish contest for young designers, has opened Cracow Fashion Week for the third time. Since 1996, Cracow Fashion Awards has annually promoted emerging talents in fashion design, who have recently graduated from Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design. The level of this year’s entries has been of an exceptionally high standard. The collections ranged from stunningly designed avant-garde outfits and evening-wear to modern street-wear and classic feminine elegance.

Vai-Vai Samba School wins 2011 São Paulo Carnival

São Paulo Carnival has already chosen its champions. Vai-Vai samba school was announced as 2011 great winner with the samba theme presentation "A música venceu!" (The music won), which celebrated the life and career of a renowned brazilian maestro, João Carlos Martins.

On friday 11th, Vai-Vai and other seven Carnival winners will present again at Sambadrome in Champion´s Parade.

Mrs. "Baba" 2011 competition was held in Sofia

On a special ceremony at Grand Hotel Sofia 44-year-old Daniela Tsvetanova became Mrs. Baba* for 2011. She charmed the jury with her stunning look and skills. Daniela is married for 28 years, she lives and works in Sofia and develop her own business, which makes her absolutely independent. Teresa Scanlan from Nebraska was crowned as Miss America 2011

Miss Nebraska 2010 Teresa Scanlan was crowned as Miss America 2011 friday night at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The final night of the 90th Anniversary of the Miss America Pageant presented by DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse was broadcast live from Las Vegas on ABC.

Teresa's triumphant walk across the stage was just the beginning of a journey that will take her to every corner of the country during her year of service as Miss America 2011.

Thomas Tait is the winner of the 2010 Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize. It was awarded last night in The Dorchester’s elegant Orchid Room where an intimate gathering of VIP guests mingled with the celebrated Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize judging panel.

The judges of the inaugural Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize included Manolo Blahnik, the Hon. Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has been nominated for the British Fashion Council’s Designer Brand of the Year award.

The singer-turned-fashion designer, who launched her label in 2008 to rave reviews, has been shortlisted for the prestigious award, taking on fashion heavyweights such as Mulberry, Burberry and Pringle, reported Contactmusic.

Gorgeous beauties show slim bodies in a race for the crown of Miss Marilyn – Varna

After a serious casting, only 15 beauties were chosen to hit the stage in the amazing show. The contestants competed in various rounds of the competition, even in a creative task, that the jury of pop-folk star Alicia, the top model Petya Velkova, Super Bianca and pop singer Lubo gave to them.

Miss Universe 2010 is from Mexico

Eighty three models took part in the contest for the prestigious crown and the title Miss Universe 2010, among which 21 from Latin America. On Thursday were selected 15 semi finalists. Unfortunately, there was no Bulgarian participant in the contest this time.

The Mexican Jimena Navarrete was selected to become Miss Universe 2010.

Navarrete surprised everyone, as the expectations were that the crown will go to the representative of Ireland, Venezuela or USA.

Miss Universe 2010 – Live from Las Vegas

The Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas is the venue for this year’s Miss Universe competition, which will be held today ad 18:00 local time.

83 contestants will show their best side during the spectacular show tonight. The contest was founded in 1952 by California clothing company and since then the title Miss Universe has been awarded 19 times to representatives of Latin America.

The most beautiful sea nymphs of Miss Marilyn – Burgas will wear "Ice Watch" watches

Fifteen beauties from Burgas and the region walked on the stage in front of guests in the exotic garden of “Royal Beach Barcelo” – Sunny Beach.

The event has become a real show in Hollywood style and a concert, which was attended by the star of Bulgarian pop music LiLana and her brother, beat boxing champion Skiler and Mr. King - Konstantin.

The participants in the competition were presented in four rounds.

The freshest model of summer 2010 was chosen in a contest

The beauty contest was held in Sheraton Hotel Balkan, to nominate the freshest model of summer 2010. Fashion editors, celebrities, and guests of Viva Casino! chose 17 years old Alexandra Krasteva as the winner.

16 candidates from across the country competed for the title of Miss Summer Viva 2010. They went through three rounds and showed the latest trends of Italian fashion brands Zu Elements and Phard. The French Pataugas shoes completed the styling of the models.

Simona Konova from Troyan is the new Miss Argo – Ribaritsa 2010

The third edition of "Miss Argo – Ribaritsa 2010" won the only blonde girl among the participants – Simona Konova from Troyan. The contest was part of the festivities which will open the summer 2010 tourist season in Central Balkan National Park.

The show, hosted by Dragomir Draganov, took place by the poolside of hotel Argo. For the guests were provided excellent conditions and a lot of champagne. The decoration around the pool was made by agency Surprise from Lovech.

Miss Bulgaria 2010 is a charming brunette

The 21-year old brunette Romina Andonova from Sofia took most of the awards at the beauty contest "Miss Bulgaria 2010", announced the organizers.

The beauty attracted the attention of the audience and the jury. Romina will present Bulgaria in the world finals "Miss World 2010".

The first runner up, according to the jury, with chairman Evgenia Kalkandjieva - Manova, is the 22-year old Yana Chinkova from Plovdiv. The blond is already popular being a weather girl in the television Pro.bg. She is also "Miss Plovdiv 2009".

From Plovdiv is also the second runner up - the 21-year old red hair beauty Zornitsa Stoycheva.

Iva Shtereva  is the lady, voted by the viewers of NTV to present our country in the world competition "Mrs World" 2010 in Korea.

Students in fashion presented their interpretations of traditional garments of European nations

"The aim of the contest was to motivate the young people to get to know the traditions and culture in the field of garments and design of the people in the European Union. And to recreate them to fit todays conditions of life and fashion trends", shared the organizers. The participants sent their ideas as fashion sketches and the 15 best ideas received help to develop them and present the clothes in the fashion show. It is curious that most ideas were taken from traditional men's costumes and originally transformed in provocative women's garments.

Miss Sofia - Winter 2010

Several days ago 15 beauties participated in the contest Miss Sofia - Winter 2010 in beautiful youth toilets of boutique WOMAN MONRO with designer Milena Tsoncheva and the prom dresses of atelier SIMON with designer Gergana Simeonova. 23-year-old representative of Gibraltar Kayane Aldorino was chosen as the most beautiful woman in the world for 2009.

The ceremony took place on 14 November in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The leggy brunette, dressed in white-lace evening gown, was crowned as silver confetti rained down onstage around her. Miss World 2008 " Ksenia Suhinova gave jeweled crown to the winner.

Munich, August 31, 2009 - Super model Jourdan Dunn set in scene this year’s inspirational lingerie designs from 28 young designers around the world at the Triumph Inspiration Award campaign shooting. The creative pieces worn by the star model were photographed by the Italian fashion photographer Giovanni Gastel.

At the shooting Jourdan Dunn and Giovanni Gastel slipped into the different creative ideas of each individual design to emphasize this year’s design motto “icons”. “For a perfect picture, I just need poetry and beauty. After over 3 hours fashion show and emotions for the participants, the jury elected the girl, who will be crowned as Miss Varna 2009.
And this is 17-year-old Alisa Ganeva. Her measures are 84-63-94 and height 182 cm.

The runner-up is Inna Nikolova, 18-year-old with height 181 cm.

Seventeen-years-old Shenduvan Hasanova Is The New Miss Grand de Luxe

The capital based club Grand de Luxe held its established monthly beauty pageant Miss Grand de Luxe 2009.

The designer's creation "Day and night" of the winner Iskren Lozanov has been inspired by 20th century art genius Pablo Picasso. Iskren Lozanov is a 3rd year bachelor in the National Arts Academy (NAA).

Axinia and the folk-diva Kamelia sang on the contest "To be Merilin" in Varna

A glamorous show "To be Merilyn" gathered the elite in Grand Hotel Varna several days ago. This is the second contest from the national event "To be Merilyn - Feeling like a woman". Ekaterina Duneva - Mrs. Bulgaria World 2007 became fifth on the world beauty contest Mrs. United Nations International 2008. The first place took the American Angelique Harville, second is Alet Wenter – Mrs. United Nation South Africa.

Gea Antonova (age 18) from Sofia is the new winner of „Become a face of Kwiat” competition. She gained the opportunity to take photo session with the newest glass models of Kwiat 2008 collection. She also gained a money prize and „Kwiat Exclusive” sunglasses from the newest 2008 collection.

The jury awarded the second place to Dimitar Stoyanov (age 18) from Sofia. He also gained glasses, model „Kwiat Limited Edition” from the newest 2008 collection. The Bulgarian beauty Maria Radeva has reached the final stage of the Image Model 2007 pageant, held in Las Vegas. She has to eliminate only three rivals to grab the title.

One girl is to leave the contest every week after the results of an on-line voting are announced.

The last two models are to face each other in a direct battle in a TV show.

The designer Alexandra Milusheva is Mrs. Bulgaria 2007

Mrs. Bulgaria 2007 is the designer Alexandra Milusheva Dimitrova. The beauty is a creative director of fashion boutique Astella Atelier. She is 27 years old and is happily married and has a daughter Vanessa - one year and nine months old. Vanessa supported her mother loudly during the show. Alexandra Milusheva was selected to be a face of two from the media partners of the event Grazia magazine and Standart newspaper. Show me your... "SLOGGI"!

“Sloggi” decided to make a quest for the worlds most beautiful bottom. The beginning of the competition in Bulgaria was announced at a press conference, where Mrs. Dora Black - General manager of "Triumph Bulgaria" declared the aims of the campaign.

The best male and female bottom in the world quest “Show me your sloggi” will win a cash prize of 10,000 euros each and a lucrative modelling contract, as well as an insurance for their bottoms.

In the start of the competition in Bulgaria took part the girls and boys from the “New X” ballet, who presented the newest autumn collection underwear and swimwear accompanied by the “Sloggi” song.

Golden Needle fashion Awards 2006 – prestigeous and unique

For the 13th time the Bulgarian Fashion Academy bestowed the prestigeous Golden needle awards 2006. The event was held on an official gala-eve where fashion and TV shook hands.

The ceremony was held at the studio of the popular bTV fashion show „Ogledala“ (Mirrors).

Albena Aleksandrova won for the 3rd time the Golden needle prize, awarded by the Bulgarian Fashion Academy. Such was the conclusion when the direct electronic voting of the 36 jury members was closed. Voting results were certified by notary Aksenia Monova.

The winners of "Zlatna igla 2006" (Golden needle 2006) award are already known

Albena Aleksandrova won for the 3rd time Golden needle prize awarded by the Bulgarian Fashion Academy.

This was the conclusion when the direct electronic voting of the 36 jury members was closed.

The other winners are:

"Zebra" - for the fashion house of the year; Angel Tsvetanov – for the fashion photographer of the year; Kiril Chalakov – for the make-up of the year and the pop singer Irina Florin – for the most successful debut of the 2006th.

"Golden Needle 2005" awards were given

The Academy of fashion gave its highest award "Golden Needle 2005". This most prestigeous for Bulfarian fashion design event attracted for 12th year the media, journalists, fashion critics and the cultural public.

The glamorous event took place in the new Youth theatre. The jury comprising of 34 journalists in the presence of the lawyer Axenia Monova voted for the best fashion creators, make-up artists, photographers and organizers of fashion shows.

Designer of the year (for the second time) became Virginia Zdravkova, who showed an exquisite and elegant collection. Among her works was the first Bulgarian dress, worn on the official "Oscar" ceremony.

Fashion house of the year (women's fashion) became "Tani" with designer Tania Metodieva. Golden Needle for men's fashion received Atanas Parushev, and for fashion photography - Moni Frances.

Astella Atelier is the new designer of the Miss Bulgaria competition

The competition "Miss Bulgaria 2006" chose for its designer Alya Milusheva-Dimitrova and Astella Atelier. The candidates for the prestigeous title were dressed in 36 unique toilets designed by Alya. The famous designer was also in the jury of the competition.

For the first time in the history of the competition for queen of beauty it took place in Plovdiv, not in the capital Sofia.

On its session on Friday the Academy of fashion voted the nominations for the "Golden needle" award for the year 2001. The award for overall contribution to Bulgarian fashion and the "Golden needle" in this category is adjudged to the famous Bulgarian designer Daria Manchenko. She has graduated the Higher school of fashion stylistics, haute couture fashion and costume "Arman Gojel" in Paris and more than a quarter of a century she works in the field of fashion design.

Third annual models casting "Visages models 2001"

The third annual models casting "Visages models 2001" took place on 25 November in the National Palace of Culture. 72 girls from 29 Bulgarian cities all over the country participated in the casting. They were chosen through regional selections, organised by "Visages models".
