10 ladies will take part in Miss Bulgaria Grand competition on Tuesday night (28.04.) at Grand De Luxe night-club.
The magnetic Magdalena Jelyaskova, the Bulgarian pop-folk icons Aneliya and Gloriya, Simona Parvanova, Zaineb Madjurova, Aleksander Bessedin and Mister Manhunt 2009 – Viktor Angelov will be the jury of the contest.
The channel TV2 from Island and its leader Gudjon Helgason are in Bulgaria to shoot the most sexy event - "Night of the sex bombs". Their interest is dictated mostly by the Island beauty Asdis Ran, who lives in Bulgaria because of the football engagements of her husband Gardar. The star from Island is nominated in the category "The most sexy blond" for 2009.
The new Miss Bulgaria is Antonia Petrova from the city of Pernik. The blond beauty is 24 years old and has two degrees in higher education - in Economics and Law. She will present Bulgaria at the contest Miss World 2009. The first runner up is Elitsa Lubenova from Dve Mogili, who is 18 years old. She studies in a school for folklore dances in Kotel, her dream is to dance on the scene of Bolshoi theater.
The title Miss Beauty of the World Bulgaria 2009 received the 17-year old Ruslana Kaneva from Sofia. She will present Bulgaria on the contest in China in April. Miss Tourism Planet is the 19-year old Polina Gergusheva from Sofia, who will represent Bulgaria in Athens. Polina writes music and wants to be a journalist.
In Parish finished the final of the world contest „Show me your „Sloggi” (well-known as contest of the best bottom in the world), organized by the youth line „Sloggi” of the famous giant for underwear and swimming suits „Triumph”. Winners became the 20-years-old Melanie Nunes Fronckowiak(Brazil) and the 27-years-old Saiba Bombote (France). The most important achievements in Bulgarian fashion will be honored with the “Golden needle 2008” award at a brilliant ceremony in “Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan”. The stylish event will be held on 29th November 2008. For first time the bestowing of the award is organized by Academy for fashion, with presidents Donka Ganeva and prof. Lubomir Stoykov, and “Made in Bulgaria” program in the face of Adriana Tsaneva and Olga Uskova.
The 36-member jury, composed by representatives of the leading Bulgarian media, had already defined the new bearers of the high prize through electronic voting. At the gala spectacle “Golden needle 2008” the excellent students of Bulgarian fashion will present collections, made especially for the ceremony.
Ekaterina Duneva - Mrs. Bulgaria World 2007 became fifth on the world beauty contest Mrs. United Nations International 2008. The first place took the American Angelique Harville, second is Alet Wenter – Mrs. United Nation South Africa.
The strong will for winning, the exceptional preparation and self discipline of our beauty brought her to the successful finals of the prestigious contest. „I feel very happy. Although the American was tolerated all the time, I am proud to have won the fifth place and presented Bulgaria to the world with dignity! Gea Antonova (age 18) from Sofia is the new winner of „Become a face of Kwiat” competition. She gained the opportunity to take photo session with the newest glass models of Kwiat 2008 collection. She also gained a money prize and „Kwiat Exclusive” sunglasses from the newest 2008 collection.
The jury awarded the second place to Dimitar Stoyanov (age 18) from Sofia. He also gained glasses, model „Kwiat Limited Edition” from the newest 2008 collection. The third place was taken by Anna Ivanova (age 21) from Sofia who gained „Kwiat” sunglasses too. Elena Nosikova (age 18) from Asenovgrad was awarded with the special prize - „Kwiat” sunglasses.
The Bulgarian beauty Maria Radeva has reached the final stage of the Image Model 2007 pageant, held in Las Vegas. She has to eliminate only three rivals to grab the title.
One girl is to leave the contest every week after the results of an on-line voting are announced.
The last two models are to face each other in a direct battle in a TV show.
Mrs. Bulgaria 2007 is the designer Alexandra Milusheva Dimitrova. The beauty is a creative director of fashion boutique Astella Atelier. She is 27 years old and is happily married and has a daughter Vanessa - one year and nine months old. Vanessa supported her mother loudly during the show. Alexandra Milusheva was selected to be a face of two from the media partners of the event Grazia magazine and Standart newspaper. She will present our country on the biggest pageant for married women Mrs. World 2008.
The first runner up of Mrs. Bulgaria is Janeta Ivanova from Sofia. She is 27 years old and is recently married (9 months ago).
“Sloggi” decided to make a quest for the worlds most beautiful bottom. The beginning of the competition in Bulgaria was announced at a press conference, where Mrs. Dora Black - General manager of "Triumph Bulgaria" declared the aims of the campaign.
The best male and female bottom in the world quest “Show me your sloggi” will win a cash prize of 10,000 euros each and a lucrative modelling contract, as well as an insurance for their bottoms.
In the start of the competition in Bulgaria took part the girls and boys from the “New X” ballet, who presented the newest autumn collection underwear and swimwear accompanied by the “Sloggi” song.
For the 13th time the Bulgarian Fashion Academy bestowed the prestigeous Golden needle awards 2006. The event was held on an official gala-eve where fashion and TV shook hands.
The ceremony was held at the studio of the popular bTV fashion show „Ogledala“ (Mirrors).
Albena Aleksandrova won for the 3rd time the Golden needle prize, awarded by the Bulgarian Fashion Academy. Such was the conclusion when the direct electronic voting of the 36 jury members was closed. Voting results were certified by notary Aksenia Monova.

"Zebra" - for the fashion house of the year; Angel Tsvetanov – for the fashion photographer of the year; Kiril Chalakov – for the make-up of the year and the pop singer Irina Florin – for the most successful debut of the 2006th.
The Academy of fashion gave its highest award "Golden Needle 2005". This most prestigeous for Bulfarian fashion design event attracted for 12th year the media, journalists, fashion critics and the cultural public.
The glamorous event took place in the new Youth theatre. The jury comprising of 34 journalists in the presence of the lawyer Axenia Monova voted for the best fashion creators, make-up artists, photographers and organizers of fashion shows.
Designer of the year (for the second time) became Virginia Zdravkova, who showed an exquisite and elegant collection. Among her works was the first Bulgarian dress, worn on the official "Oscar" ceremony.
Fashion house of the year (women's fashion) became "Tani" with designer Tania Metodieva. Golden Needle for men's fashion received Atanas Parushev, and for fashion photography - Moni Frances.
The competition "Miss Bulgaria 2006" chose for its designer Alya Milusheva-Dimitrova and Astella Atelier. The candidates for the prestigeous title were dressed in 36 unique toilets designed by Alya. The famous designer was also in the jury of the competition.
For the first time in the history of the competition for queen of beauty it took place in Plovdiv, not in the capital Sofia.
Traditionally before Christmas holidays Irida fashion house handed its annual awards for journalists - for media partnership, contribution in the field of fashion and professional reporting of fashion events during the last year.

On great interest and very splendid and stylish passed by the official ceremony of 10th anniversary Bulgarian Fashion Academy Awards Zlatna Igla 2003 /Golden Needle 2003/. The gala-evening for voting and handing the most prestigious fashion awards in Bulgaria was on March 13th, 2004 in Inter Expo Center. The Fashion Academy /launched in 1993 in Paris by Donka Ganeva and Lubomir Stoykov/ proof that the most impartial assessment of the fashion design achievements belongs to the Fourth power - of the fashion journalists.

On its session on Friday the Academy of fashion voted the nominations for the "Golden needle" award for the year 2001. The award for overall contribution to Bulgarian fashion and the "Golden needle" in this category is adjudged to the famous Bulgarian designer Daria Manchenko. She has graduated the Higher school of fashion stylistics, haute couture fashion and costume "Arman Gojel" in Paris and more than a quarter of a century she works in the field of fashion design.
The third annual models casting "Visages models 2001" took place on 25 November in the National Palace of Culture. 72 girls from 29 Bulgarian cities all over the country participated in the casting. They were chosen through regional selections, organised by "Visages models".

Universe Pageant was held on Friday May 11th, at the Ruben
Rodriguez Coliseum in
Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
Seventy-seven delegates took part in the preliminary competitions and rehearsals.
The 19-year old Ivayla Bakalova from the city of Varna became "Miss
Bulgaria" for this year and she will represent Bulgaria in
the "Miss Universe" concurs in Puerto Rico.< br />
The jury comprised the president of the Bulgarian Football Union Ivan Slavkov, the sculptor Vejdi Rashidov, fashion photographers, editors, producers. They chose Ivayla Bakalova because of her womanhood and her measures 92–63–88 cm.
