Carl Stuart started out as a one-man business over fifty years ago by Walter Grimes. It is still a Limited Company with approx. sixty-five staff and is now run by Walter's daughter Jane. Short-sleeve shirts came hand-embroidered with abstract, Kelly-like swirls while scarves boasted busy patterns of rings, circles and dots. There were matte fabrics galore, as in a nubby micro boucl? — that looked from a distance like terrycloth — for a short bomber-style jacket, while Lamb worked a crosshatch one into a double-breasted suit.

"Children deserve quality". This is the moto of Richmart Junior campaign that started at Premiere Vision Paris from 19 to 21 September. Four kids at the age 8 - 12 years old presented Richmart kids jackets collection October 2017 at Premiere Vision Paris. The themes of the models are "Daddy's Princess", "My dream is...", " Let the see set you free" and "Traditional checks". The kids took part in the design of the collection, selecting the colors, linings and embroidery. Three of them attended the fair with their fathers who wore jackets with the same colors and style. Beside being models and having a photoshoot at Premiere Vision, the kids (Alexandra, Monika, Nikol and Dalia) selected fabrics and accessories for their November collection.

Fashion trends Autumn/Winter 2018/2019 at MUNICH FABRIC START - an Interplay of Creativity, Technology and Digitalisation
The MUNICH FABRIC START from 5 to 7 September 2017 that has just drawn to a close was a very special one, according to the organizers. And it was very special for me too, as I was there for the first time after being at other fairs in Italy, France and Germany. I saw numerous innovations, developments and optimisations used to visualise ideas giving the sector a platform for creativity and technical developments. In Munich the future is real and technology the key to a broad-based textiles and fashion industry brimming with dynamism that is both tangible and perceivable.
The creative world of Spanish fashion gathers at the 66th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid
The big event in Spanish Fashion, organised by IFEMA, will take place from 14 to 19 September. On the 14th, fashion shows and presentations will take place at different locations in the city. From the 15th to Tuesday the 19th, fashion shows will take place in hall 14.1 at IFEMA-Feria de Madrid, with some events closing with presentations and shows at other locations in Madrid.
WHITE expands its geography within the Tortona Fashion District, with the hub in Tortona 31/Archiproducts and with the venue for special projects and events within Camera Italiana Buyer Moda, which add to the three already existing locations. The timing is extended to four days, in view of the fashion week, so as to converge all the sector’s initiatives in the same period, thanks to MISE. The record number of 532 exhibitors (368 from Italy and 164 from abroad, namely a 6,4% increase), goes to show the key role the trade-fair plays in the womenswear international scene. Ssheena is September’s Special Guest with an Urban Catwalk in the heart of Milan, while Efisio Rocco Marras is the Special Designer, with the new direction undertaken by I’M Isola Marras. One of the projects that caught my attention at Munich Fabric Start was the MicroFactory at Keyhouse. Coordinated by the Deutsche Institute fur Textil- und Faserforschung (German Institute for Textile and Fibre Research), MicroFactory at Keyhouse demonstrated for the first time a fully networked and integrated production chain from the design stage through to the finished product. It illustrated the possibility for a swift reaction to market needs already from the first production batch.
