In the world of sickness and sedentary, experts found the key of health of the body and soul. It is called FOLKNETIKA - a 10-minute everyday team building - aerobics at the work place - a dance, based on the asymmetric meters of Bulgarian horo (traditional folklore dance) - without choreography or stage attire, without learning complicated steps from the authentic dances - just pure joy of dancing.
Nowadays, the total immobilization of people is a very important theme. The way of life we live is different – most of the professions require a sitting position all day long and our bodies are forced to get used to that.
We talked about the new team-building called FOLKNETIKA – it is the key of the good health condition and happiness of your employees.
Bulgarian folk dances are based on asymmetrical meter, built up around various combinations of 'quick' and 'slow' music. The music, in Western musical notation, is often described using compound meter notation, where the notational meter accents can be of different lengths, usually 1, 2, 3, or 4. Many Bulgarian dances are line dances, in which the dancers dance in a straight or curved line, holding hands.
elf-confidence is extremely important in almost every aspect of our lives. We gain a sense of self-efficacy when we see ourselves mastering skills and achieving goals that matter in those skill areas. This is the confidence that, if we learn and work hard in a particular area, we'll succeed.

Folknetika is a new type of sport, which prevents from sedentary, stress and depression and serves as prevention against cancer and other diseases. Folknetika is a presentation of folklore in a new, modern way. A combination of beautiful dance movements and rhythmic steps. Even if only 1/5 of the Europeans with a sedentary lifestyle start practicing Folknetika, at least 100,000 lives will be saved for ONE year!

Due to its geographical location, Eastern European mythology and folklore seamlessly blend influences from Asian nomads, the Orient, Ancient Greece, the Thracian and the European Slavic cultures, the result being something completely new and interesting, but still European.
As we've already noted, sedentary lifestyle is the key risk factor for people's lives and health. That's why a group of active Bulgarians - each of them successful in their field - united themselves to create a proposal for the problem's solution. The system is called Folknetika and it was presented yesterday in Sofia, Bulgaria, during a press conference at the Bulgarian News Agency.
It is not a secret that sedentary lifestyle is extremely harmful to humans - not only for their bodies but also for the emotional and mental health. Researches show that sitting at your desk all day long, increases mortality with 20% in males and 40% in females and every year 500,000 Europeans and 1.9 million people worldwide die from sedentary.
